Random Predictions for 2022-2023

mfjmfj : 8/8/2022 8:24 am
1). Kenny Golladay is riding the bench by October, and cut at the end of the year ($14MM dead cap, $7MM savings)
2). Saquon Barkley has his best year since his rookie year, has trade value at the deadline, but we don't pull the trigger because still in the hunt.
3). DJ plays just well enough to make us wish we had picked up his option year, but not well enough to want to pay him the going rate for a good QB1.
3Alternative). DJ is benched by week 4 and Tyrod Taylor plays well enough to give us mediocre draft position. What now?
4). Thibodeaux is in the running for DROY. Evan Neal struggles.
5). The OL looks much better until AT or Feliciano miss meaningful time.
6). As always at this time of year I expect to go to the Super Bowl. However, my random prediction is 8-9 and missing the playoffs.

Feel free to add your own random, unjustifiable, and indefensible predictions!

Around early Novemeber, my wife asks me why I still watch if it makes me so miserable. A slight improvement from the mid-October timeline of the past decade.
Hard to say this early but here goes :
averagejoe : 8/8/2022 8:37 am : link
1) Tyrod Taylor starts week 1 . Daboll does not believe DJ can run his offense.
2) Barkley has a few good games - gets injured - has mediocre numbers at season end and is not resigned .
3) Giant defense vastly improves and keeps us in each game.
4) Thibs Neal Robinson play well and all rookies contribute.
5) Golladay is hurt early and never a factor. Toney has a few good games before being injured .
6) Giants improve to 7-10
Ok
section125 : 8/8/2022 8:39 am : link
I stand by my 6-11 prediction because the rookies playing will be green enough to hurt overall.

1.) DJ is who we thought he is and is mediocre enough to not get pulled
2.) Thibs gets 12 sacks, Ojulari 10
3.) Evan Neal starts awkwardly because of changing techniques but improves greatly by year's end
4.) Ezeudu sees plenty of time on the field and is starting LG by game 10
5.) Barkley is dealt to a playoff team for a 3rd rounder having a VG year
6.) Golladay remains useless and invisible
7.) Toney and Wan'Dale make football fun for fans making plays from all over the field
Here goes....
KingBlue : 8/8/2022 9:12 am : link
1. Giants offer hope after season opening loss at Tennessee with 3 wins in a row (Panthers, Boys, Bears)
2. Wink's defense is a big hit early
3. Offense has everyone giddy with the Big 3 operating in open space (WanDale, Toney, Saquan)
4. Packers and Ravens roll (BBI Negativity Returns)
5. Giants surprise with second 3 game winning streak of the Season (Jags, Seahawks, Texans). BBI explodes with anticipation of what could be
6. Alas, the Giants are unable to sustain the promise and are only able to win two more games (Commanders, Lions)
7. Late Season slide causes Giants to miss playoffs
8. Fanbase excited for return of Giant Football and the future
9. Thibs, Ojulari, McKinney, Lawrence, Williams, Robinson, Neal, Thomas, Toney all have stellar years
10. Sadly...Jones, Saquan have played there last games in blue
ok....
It's a New Day : 8/8/2022 9:27 am : link
DJ throws for 4000, 26 TDs, 10 Ints and rushes for 450
Barkley has his best season ever
KT has 1000 yards receiving
Offensive line by the season's end is no longer a worry
Evan Neil is a work in progress, show promise by mid season
Kayvon Thibodeaux is Rookie of the Year
Giants win 10 games

Mock all you want. I'll be here all season LOL
Ok.
BLUATHRT : 8/8/2022 9:29 am : link
1.) Jones plays just well enough to keep the team in contention and lose a premium draft pick. His play creates enough dissension in the fan base and front office, wondering what he could do with another year in the same system.
2.) Saquon has a monster year. Because of this, the fan base and front office are torn because you don't pay a RB that kind of money and who knows if he will stay healthy.
3.) Toney looks like the guy that flashed in the Dallas game last year but misses 1/3 of the season with injury, leaving the front office with more questions about how much more should be invested in the WR spot next offseason because durability seems to be the one thing Toney doesn't have.
4.) Elerson Smith out performs Ojulari.
5.) McKinney becomes a top safety under Wink.

I want what you are drinking. Tyrod is not starting the season if DJ is healthy. Would he replace Daniel during the season for poor performance? perhaps.

Usually drinking Jameson or bushmill....

I know Jones is expected to start but I get the feeling Daboll will go with the QB he thinks can win. A novel approach for sure. If DJ continues to stink it up Daboll may have no choice .
The Giants are in the hunt until injuries and abductions

For the offense to improve, we enter this season asking the same questions we've been asking the past 3 seasons:

1) Will DJ Improve?
2) Will Barkley return to rookie form and be the centerpiece?
3) Will the Oline improve?

I think only 3 happens - so while we'll see improvement, I think points will still come at a premium.

As for the defense:
I think we'll see improvement due to scheme and personnel improvements.

I see improvement to the record, as both the offense and defensive schemes SEEM more modernized.

We still have a long way to go - which I understand and will be patient with. I'm hoping for two things:

1) The season isn't over by October
2) Watching the Giants will no longer be the most boring endeavor of all time
Non-random prediction. Giants will have a bad offense until they

acquire an adequate TE, meaning a TE who can catch well and block well.

Untested rookies who have never blocked, don't count. Veteran TEs who can't even get on the field don't count.

It is no secret that we have not had an adequate TE for many years. Despite the huge changes in the Giants' players, coaches, administration and philosophy, we still don't have one. I'm not blaming anyone. I'm sure they tried. I'm merely predicting that our offense will not be good until we field a decent TE.

Oh, there will be exceptions. There will be beautiful pass plays and excellent runs, but they will be punctuated all to often by TFLs, hurried throws, sacks, ints and fumbles that are the direct result of constant pressure on the QB caused TEs who can't block and don't take defenders with them when they run down the field.

OROY.

Book it.
Tyrod Taylor
Breeze_94 : 8/8/2022 2:37 pm : link
Starts and wins more games than Daniel Jones

Saquon has an all pro year

Wan’Dale leads team in receptions

Thibs has 12+ sacks and wins DROY

Giants win 8 games and miss out on playoffs in final week of season

Dude, you need to up your game. If you are going to go Bushmills try the Black Barrel - solid entry at its price point. Also the Steamship collection Sherry Cask is really good, but probably hard to find and likely to be overpriced in the States (disclaimer I am a sucker for a sherry cask finish). Jameson is pretty much just fine at every price point. Entry level is fine. 15 year and 18 year are really good, but nothing special at their price point. Same family as Jameson and consistently really good Irish is Middletons. Have never gone wrong with Middletons.

NYG go undefeated and win the Super Bowl

But Tyrod Taylor will be the starting QB because the universe loves to fuck with Greg in LI
