I f-ing love Wink (media Q& A linked)

This guy gets me so damn pumped up for the D this season.

I feel like even if the O really struggles this season (I don't expect it to be anywhere near as poor as last year, but trying to manage my expectation), the D is going to be really special this year.

I have a ton of confidence in Wink and what he brings. And the solid play of the CBs and potential for KT5s pass rush upgrade so far in training camp, make me as excited as I have been for a new season in a long time.

I love Wink's style of defense

and it should be fin to watch. But I do not share your optinism as we have a big hole at CB and a cover corner is esential to success in Wink's system. Look what happened to the Ravens last year when their CBs went down.

I'm worried about depth, but not too worried about our starters. Our CBs are much better than what the Ravens had when their starters got injured last season. Bradberry was best in zone anyway. Robinson is somewhat of an unknown, but reports on Jackson and Holmes from training camp have been extremely positive. And we have the safety talent and depth to throw into the mix too.

It's all going to depend on ability to create pressure, especially on 3rd downs. We haven't see much of that in a while.
I love listening to him. I can see why players love him.

He sounds so confident.
I think we will finally

See a defense that can generate pressure, which has been a real struggle for pretty much as long as our OL has been awful. I am most optimistic about Lawrence finally being utilized in his natural position as a NT, Wink will get the most out of him and I can see him opening up a lot for this front 7 to get creative.

Sure the secondary is a little thin, but the best Giants defenses have always been built from front to back. I like the aggression our starters play with: Jackson, Robinson, Holmes. I think both Flott and Rodarious Williams (if he bounces back from injury) are very promising developmental guys to have to come in off the bench. Safety might be more concerning, but so long as McKinney stays healthy, I think it’s still a fairly strong unit.

I can’t wait to see Thibs from all the reports we have been reading, I think he will go down as one of the biggest steals of this draft. To come in as a rookie and to be getting the better of Thomas consistently is very promising. Haven’t had a player that can be a disruptive like that since prime JPP.
I love the attacking style

Just wondering of the success we are hearing about is the result of the offensive skill players being so poor or the DBs are playing well. Our receivers are nothing special. Robinson and Toney may be something special but still need to see it play out.

Our OL may be improved too but we pretty much have 4 new starters trying to gel. Neal is a rookie and he will have his struggles for a lot of the season. Hearing guys like Ximenes dominating tells me something is not right with the O.

Winks D will be more exciting an fun to watch. We will see big plays but they will get burnt too. Anything is better than watching teams methodically march down the field to score over and over.
100% agree

I was surprised there were some people here who still, preferred “bend don’t break” Graham’s defense instead. I guess those people love it when the opponent scores a TD just before halftime against our boys and Graham’s “ bend sometimes break” defense.
Thanks for posting

Seems like Wink is really happy with the talent. Very happy to have him on this stuff. Great things to follow imv.

Not sure we have depth at safety. If we did we wouldn't be signing street free agents.
Great clip, I like his style.

He comes across as tough but likeable. The toughness isn't phony and forced like Judge, it's just effortless. I'm looking forward to seeing the D this year.
Let's see if Wink's stuff holds up against QBs

Wink, his system, and the impact it will have on Giants defense is definitely a potential bright spot this year.
