“ THEY SEEM TO BE HAVING A LOT OF
LUCK RIGHT NOW OFFENSIVELY. THAT'S
GREAT. IT'S AUGUST. WE'LL SEE WHAT
THINGS ARE LIKE IN OCTOBER.”
What a fucking loser. Take your beating and leave “luck” out of it. Mets whooped them 4/5 and this is his take. I’m sure Pete, Cahna, etc will be loving this quote. I can’t remember a Mets pitcher ever blaming anyone but themselves for a loss. I’d find that concerning as a braves fan, can’t handle a loss well
Good take on this. Agree.
Don't know how this pertains to me, but thanks for the advice
It's a common theme this season. Long, drawn-out at bats, fouling off great pitches. I can see why pitchers lose their minds facing that lineup. And he's young and immature.

Rob, are you in Rockaway? I grew up in Far Rockaway, beach 20th St, and I graduated from Far Rockaway H.S.
How is Rockaway these days?

They very much remind me of the KC team that beat us in the WS. They were so frustrating to play against. Always put the ball in play, worked counts, played great defense. They had a better BP but I'm hoping some of the injured players returning will bolster that
He's 23. Will be 24 in a few months.
2 games against the Mets: 7.1 innings, 11 hits, 5 walks 5 ER. Hasn't lasted 5 innings either time.
All's I'm saying here is that if a Mets pitcher got rocked in a big game and their response was "“I don’t know. It helps when they’re getting calls and 1-1 counts turn to 2-1 counts instead of 1-2 counts, and stuff like that. When your BABIP is .330, .340 as a team, it’s tough to get quick innings and get quick outs.” I would be very disappointed in them as a fan

I agree with you, what he said, in my opinion, is sour grapes. It's making excuses and not taking responsibility. He should have credited the Mets with playing good baseball, and or talked about the mistakes he made. That would have been a classy way of dealing with the loss. But not everyone is mature enough to know that, or able to do that.
As a Mets fan, I'd like to be able to understand his inability to take responsibility, and/or his lack of sophistication, and not get provoked by it.. In my life, I want to take the high road, regardless of what anyone else does, even though I fail at doing that all too often.

Yes! Totally agree, great way of putting it. Who cares! LOL
They seem like a pretty immature team. They were pretty damn loud and cocky in the one game they won against the Mets. But then they are full of sour grapes and excuses when they have their asses handed to them. Personally, I love the space that we are renting in their heads right now. The Mets just need to close the job at this point. Lots of baseball left.
None, they'll just keep talking about how good the last one was.

Rockaway is beautiful as ever. Oasis in NYC. Unfortunately suffering from plenty of what plagues the rest on NYC now. Don't want to get into that though.

Thanks Rob. I still miss Rockaway even though I've been gone 60 years. It was a wonderful place to grow up. I wish you the best.

11 straight NL East titles and they could only manage one World Series win.
