Looks like Giants might not be the only team with new offensive leadership that is struggling mightily...
Maybe we should give our guys a break after only one week in a new system... The Patriots are not in a new system but seem to be struggling under new leadership.
Pats Offense Distressingly Bad - (
New Window )
I agree... but plenty of bellyaching going on around here.

Do you really want to bet against him that he gets this right?
According to their website Patricia is listed as Senior Football Advisor / Offensive Line and Judge is Offensive Assistant / Quarterbacks. Nobody is listed as an offensive coordinator.
Our offense struggled all preseason long last year...it does matter.

New staff, new system, new players...new slate.
That we should not worry about the Giants offense struggling in practice?
Do you think they will be perfectly fine in the regular season because the Patriots offense is also struggling in camp or something?
Someone help me make it make sense please

OK... I'll try. Many offenses struggle the first week of camp, only to improve with more reps. So stop with all the whining, moaning and groaning. Let it play out.

At what point does performing well in practice matter then?
Yeah it's early but do you really expect us to light it up in week 1 if we can't even light it up in practice?
That's all I'm saying... at some point our QB has to show improvement on ball placement, reading defenses, being decisive and putting some zip on the ball when throwing into tight windows.
Or no? The switch will just magically turn on when the season starts?
Giants average 15 points per game
One team has a lot more to prove
What I heard, is they are switching to a more Zone blocking scheme to take advantage of what their new rookie offensive lineman do well as well as adapt to more of what the league is doing. Early reports are that Mac Jones has struggled with it.

Yes. That offense has been around over four decades (many enhancements). It actually originally started in NE. Perkins, Parcells, Erhardt and Ernie Adams (he was the one who introduced BB to Perkins) all were on the Patriots staff. Certainly a good haul for the Giants.
BB talked about scheme changes after the Buffalo loss. Be interesting to see what direction they go. Lot of turnover for the staff with some big losses the last few years. Scarnechia a 35 year NE treasure.

Let it play... you mean like what I've been doing the last 10 years basically. Fuck that and you, I'm tired of losing and being out of the hunt before the end of October maybe your happy to keep providing excuses for Jones and this team, I'm not.

listening to the Around The NFL podcast and they said the Patriots are deploying a completely new offense this year. They were previously running the same offense that Charlie Weis installed 20 years ago, which was the same similar offense that Ron Erhardt used with the Giants.

Outside zone running game is probably the best scheme in the NFL. Puts a lot of horizontal conflict on the D combined with bootleg play action which gives even bums like Jimmy G easy reads. One weakness also apparent with choker Jimmy G is he loses this advantage in the 2 minute offense.
After his NY flameout, I'd be surprised if he ever gets another interview for a HC position in the NFL. His best bet is college IMO. In hindsight, I bet he wishes he took that Mississippi State offer.

Hey Asshole, I never mentioned Jones or the previous ten years which have nothing to do with this thread or its premise, which apparently you are too ignorant to comprehend.
The premise, moron, is that many offenses, including teams like the Pats with new systems in place struggle early in camp... so give it some time. You fucking dumbass.
The Giants struggle in camp...
