When I watch the OL. I understand, like Thomas, it will take some time to adjust to the pros, but I think we need for him to excel to have a chance throwing the ball. I think he is a good run blocker though.
They aren't sure if they're going to play their 1's. I sure hope they do.
Fired up to see our 2 top 10 picks play. As an old school defensive nut, I haven't been this excited about a defensive rookie since JPP. You can already tell Thibs has been mentored by Strahan, with the way he is studying OTs. If he's giving Thomas fits in camp, he's going to be a problem.
the entire game unless I fall asleep in the chair.
In the recent past, what I've seen during the preseason was a lot of bad play and it was indicative of what would happen during the regular season. The offense did next to nothing while the opponent's offense drove down the field like the defense was playing flag football.
When the Giants' ones are on the field I would like to see the offense move the ball and especially get in the end zone. I would like to see the defense make a stop and put pressure on the QB. Is that too much to ask?
I remember walking out of that stadium last year after getting thumped in week 1 vs Denver and i was so so so angry
No anger this year, i have very low expectations, i'm not going to make any predictions, i'm going to focus on the positives and what can be built upon. And i'm looking to see if the team can improve as the season goes on (the opposite of last season)
There is no way Daniel Jones should be starting Week 1
Saquon Barkley is the biggest draft bust in NYG history
Kenny Golladay is useless
We should've taken Charles Cross over Evan Neal
This Offensive Line is atrocious
Kayvon is a bust
Hurts, Wentz and Dak are licking their chops to go against this secondary
Jamie Gillan should be an extra on Vikings, not an NFL punter

I know this is meant to be tongue in cheek, but i actually agree with a couple of these.....
Then after the first few series, I always recall why it sucks… Not this year!… It’ll be nice to “see” the Giants in more than just a practice but know this fellas… It’s going to suck.
I will be in Atlantic City when the game starts in a casino… Probably Caesars
along with 2nd year Robinson and some of the other younger holdovers (Holmes, Love) sprinkle in good signs from the vet holdovers like Martinez --let's build this fucking thing back to where it belongs. It starts tonight damnit.
I am really excited to grossly overreact to everything
The goals are different than a regular season game.
First- VERY little live hitting has been done to date- players will be adjusting to the lengthy hitting sessions.
Second- no real game planning- sure the coaches will have scripts on what they want to do, but there likely hasn’t been film study or preparation for any given player/group.
Third- score doesn’t really matter- coaches are trying to find out what their players can do and who can execute the scheme.
Fourth-the first and second team guys are highly unlikely to be going full out like they would in a regular season game- the guys fighting to make the team will- but you can’t judge a team or how the scheme is going based on the play of guys who won’t even make the team, let alone the practice squad.
Still, there are things that help evaluation of players and schemes. These guys will finally be going against guys that they cannot predict what they will do and will have to react to different skills and schemes than they have been seeing. It helps to know who can react on the fly and make in-game or in-drive adjustments based on what they are seeing vs. those who go through the motions without thinking,
It also helps evaluation of scheme and playmakers when the training wheels come off. No red jerseys- everyone is live. Either the players step up or they have to start looking over their shoulder for the second team guys.
A Cowboys team that went 0 & 4 preseason, and won the SB...And there have been dozens of teams going 4 & 0 that never sniffed the playoffs, forget the SB..
In 50+ years in the Super Bowl era, I am sure you can
What it was. I don't expect much from the 1st preseason game with new coaches and some new players at key spots. I'm hoping for an organized team with coaches who know what they are doing and players not looking totally lost. I'm hoping Neal and Thibs flash, though it's harder for a rookie ol to flash. Hoping to see different pass game plan or philosophy as tough as that might be in the 1st pre-season. I'm looking for an aggressive game plan from the defense. I think one of the things you can DEFINITELY judge in the first pre-season is your punter and I'm looking to see if he has a decent leg and if he can punt directionally.
This year is all about building a good roster. Our QB play will be poor and we will not win many games so I am hoping to see improvement on defense and OL .
Fuck you doin up buddy
when was the last time the Giants looked "great" in a pre-season game, dominating an opponent?

Two TD passes from Webb? START HIM!!!
Evan Neal gives up a pressure? BUST!!!
Defense gives up a long TD pass? FIRE WINK!!!
This is going to be so much fun...

The only thing that matters is it should matter to the coaches/players on this team whether they do well...
