WR Kadarius Toney, who appeared to tweak his leg/knee, in Tuesday’s practice won’t play tonight, per source. Toney and the rest of the injured players were left in New Jersey to rehab.

As others noted, Kadarius Toney stayed back in Jersey for treatment. He did not finish Tuesday's practice, and is being held out tonight.
its important for him to get some preseason time...he missed nearly all of last year...and you don't want to be considered unreliable this early in your career. He needs the reps.
miserable bastids. He is coming off knee surgery in April(?). Swelling is not uncommon. I would venture it was meniscus seeing as how it did not require major rehab.
Not sure how many of you are old enough to remember Phil Simms, but he was hurt a lot in his 1st 4 years - always something. He turned out ok.
But I'm at the point where I'm just gonna assume he's NOT practicing or playing. And if he's on the field for a game, it'll just be a nice pleasant surprise.
Is he not in need of reps after a rookie campaign marred by unavailability as he learns a new offense?
l
I agree he needs the reps because he's in a new offense and needs to be on the same page with Jones, but there's no sense in getting riled up over him being right now, on August 11. If he continues to miss these types of games including the joint practices, maybe.
Daboll and Schoen talk dependability all the time. I feel like if they felt he was a nuisance, we would hear about it in some way or another. And not in the Pat Leonard form.
school "he's got a broken leg? eh, rub some dirt on it and get back in there!"
I was at practice Thursday. He was going pretty hard till they shut him down. He's been going hard for 2 weeks straight. Its a set back, probably connected to his surgery, but lets ignore that.

Yep. Annoying old farts.
If he's game ready come season time, I'm fine with it. Score TDs against the Eagles and all is forgiven.

A) that was FORTY years ago.
B) he was a QB.
If Phil Simms is your go-to reference for making excuses about this team (whether it's DJ, Toney, or anyone else), you need something more recent, or just give it a rest.
are understandably concerned. Toney had a pretty significant injury history throughout college. But holding him out now is obviously the right decision. This is just the first preseason game. We are definitely going to need him during the regular season.
Who wanted Odell run out of town for a box of cracker jacks now want another talented wr out the door for not playing in a preseason game. No surprise. He’s going to silence a lot of posters on here this year.
This, in and of itself isn't all that concerning; it's just the pattern that is.
If the Giants offense is going to hit on big plays this year, we're going to need this guy on the field. And until that happens, skepticism is warranted and fair.

Again, you or anyone else does not know if he plays in a regular game. It is not warranted in the 1st game when the Giants are not taking chances with an important piece.

You got it, dude. No one is allowed to be concerned over a guy who missed nearly half our games last year and was constantly hurt/banged up because you say so.

He's got nothing to prove, apparently.
Noted.
Well then go right ahead and continue losing sleep over it...

Literally nothing I said was unreasonable or suggested I was losing sleep over it. You're arguing for the sake of arguing. Are you this bored?
All I said was that if we're going to hit on big plays this year, we need him on the field. Given what we saw last year, it's fair to be at least skeptical about how available he'll be during the year.
What is the issue or what don't you agree with? Did he not miss 6 games last year and parts of others? He simply has to prove he can stay on the football field. This shouldn't be controversial.

Actually he is a Joka.
Uh huh.

China Doll II.
(I don't believe it's too early).
Well on his way to be an underwhelming pick, with a chance for “Bust” status.
Starting to more clearly see the motivation behind the W Robinson pick.

besides first 2 weeks of OTA, been practicing consistently
could it be something worse? sure but why even bother jumping the gun
smart move for anyone who is a little banged up

This is the kind of crap that always happened to the Jets and we would all gather and point and laugh at them, really really hard 😔
Can we at least get to regular season...

Making a damning proclamation without knowing if you know what you're talking about is a conspiracy theory.
Relax.
We spent a first round pick on this kid. Was he injury prone in college? Because if so then that's on DG, the gift that keeps on giving.
