Am I the only one who was impressed with his CB play on Thursday? I was watching him exclusively on many plays, and it seemed to me his coverage was very tight and he appeared confident in his body language too.
Much of what he did was man on man too, and he was covering one of their receivers who supposedly is highly touted, and kept him contained.
What did you see? Am I being too optimistic because I know we have a weakness in our secondary and I’m hoping he can fill the void? I know he went against back ups, but so did everyone else.
I’ve linked some college highlights if interested.
Let me have it……

I guess if you want to define depth as guys to bring off the practice squad when injuries hit he’s a candidate. I hope he excels and can fill that role but I’d prefer him not taking valuable snaps from the ascending youngsters that need them more.
Reckon Schoen will look to FA to add a corner once cuts happen.

agreed, from what i can tell in his entire time at stony brook he didn't have any INTs but was pretty active in terms of tackles/ff/blocked kicks. maybe get lucky and he's a keion crossen type.
He is only 25, so it’s not like he is over 30.
Anyhow, I’m hoping…..he looked much much better than Evan’s and Gilbert….and dare I say, Robinson? But I don’t want to get ahead of myself here. I also did some research on him and found a website or YouTube video of some guy very upset Heslop was cut. I hope that guy knows something that moved Schoen to acquire him.
Secondly, there were many times you would also see him stripping the ball out of a receiver’s hand. Again, not something you see done much in NY.
The kid looks the part too…..
I guess it’s starting to sound like I have a man crush on him……lol
Awful! I’m surprised by this…you must believe wide receivers were catching passes with on on them, so what specific plays are you referencing so I can go back and look at the tape again. Like I previously said, I was most of the time only watching him covering his man and looking to see how many passes were caught on him. I think I only counted one. He had no penalties against him and as best as I recollect, he wasn’t just looking at the receiver while chasing him like Robinson and Evans and Gilbert did all day.
So let me know the receiver(s) who caught a pass with Heslop covering so I can corroborate what you are saying. Thanks.

looks bit heavy for a CB, looked a bit thick in the middle. Yes he was better than Gilbert and Evans, but that would not take much.

He looked slow, heavy and behind - I actually went to the roster page to see how much he weighs. IDK why, as I watched him I was thinking he looks like a small LBer. Do you really think he can play against 1st stringers vs the 4th he was covering Thursday. Gilbert and Evans were always late. Heslop was at least in the area of his guy.
I may be too harsh, but that was what I saw. I hope I am wrong.
Heslop is a practice squad guy at best.
Weighs almost 200 pounds (197)
I’m not concerned what I think of him as I am what coaches think, but if I can be forthright here…Will Robinson has yet to impress me. Almost every play I see of him, he is close to his man, looking at him, and having to tackle him after he makes the catch. I don’t think I have seen him one time knock down a pass while looking back at the qb.
With that in mind, yes, I am hoping any CB steps up to the plate to say, “give me the ball, Coach”
I think you can be good in this league so I’m sure some team will pick you up soon. I just hope it’s not the Eagles or cowgirls. I’ll be following your career, so always know, there is someone out there who is watching.
Looks like that is correct…..sigh!
And it looks like I was incorrect in my unprofessional assessment…..sigh!
