I’m never one to count out Belichick, but I think things are bad in NE. Everything we have criticized the Giants for (specifically Mara) is what Belichick is now doing. We’ve all criticized Mara for his unwillingness to look outside the building up until this year, but this is what Belichick has become. There are many young offensive minds out there, but Belichick opted for Matt Patricia and Joe Judge to run the offense. He leaned on two guys he was familiar with as opposed to looking outside of the organization.
I could be very wrong, but I think the Pats are looking at a 6-11 type season and I don’t know how much longer Belichick is coaching in NE.
And not just over, but the Patriots and their pink hat/fair weather fans will be forced into an eternity of QB/coach/GM hell like other fans and they will return to the zero fan days of the early 90's. There may have been worse eras for Pats fans, but speaking from experience, if I ever went to games in that era ('89 - '92) I often had my own row.
The place was a ghost town. No one messed with you while tail gating even having large bon fires, pissing where you stood, and parking over night.
Lol- I went to a raiders game back in that era with a bunch of rats fans. It was a fun time, stadium was pretty full but at least 25% were raiders fans. I went to a pats Giants pre season game 5 -7 years ago and the fans were a lot prouder for sure, everyone decked out in patriots attire, reminded me of the stillers home games.
Not saying Patriots will have such a fall-I doubt they will-but last season might have been a sugar high.

I think Mac Jones is solid, but he'll never be a Mahomes or Burrow or Herbert.
Christopher Harris who watches every snap of every NFL game for his podcast, and who is a Patriots fan, said this week that Mac Jones' arm looked to him like late stage Chad Pennington. If you're interested I can give you a link and a time for the section where he breaks down the Pats game.
I don't think it's the case where he has Mahomes/Herbert skill, or Burrow moxie and athleticism. I think he likely doesn't have Cousins's tools. But you know maybe he can defy the limits of his ability. It's possible. But I wouldn't want him on the Giants.
I want to like MJ, but his arm, limited athleticism, critical mistakes, etc make him a bottom third QB...IMV.

Jones is trending downward as more NFL tape of him playing becomes available.
Solid QB, but never will be in the top 5. Cousins might be a good comp. You'll win a lot if he's surrounded with a ton of talent.
I get it.
Brady also had a tremendous supporting cast around him in Tampa.
I get what Belichick was doing there--helping out coaches in whom he sees a lot of potential--but I don't think you can do that with two different coaches at once to the extent that he has, particularly with such a weak personnel group. The offensive talent is just limited, and they aren't maximizing it with Patricia/Judge.
I still wouldn't bet against the Pats to be in the playoff race. But they are just really deficient on offense right now.

That operation was based on Brady. Bellicheck was a nice compliment to Brady, but it was Brady. As others have said, his track record without Tom is fairly unimpressive. Alternatively, consider what Tom has done without Bill as an older qb.

Agreed. Brady stepped into a fantastic situation in Tampa--that was a really deep roster desperate for a QB--and then they hit on Wirfs in the draft as well, who stepped into RT and was immediately one of the three best in the league.
That was the easiest Super Bowl run of Brady's career.
I don't know what Mac Jones will be. I know what Brady was his first 5-6 years. Part of a outstanding team. He obviously advanced but was provided with really good teams later. Not surprising the QB gurus can't figure it all out.
Really disrespectful to BB to even consider this conversation as credible from a coaching perspective imv. This also is not a knock on Brady. They needed each other but I tend to believe BB would have been fine without him though doubt he reaches the heights he did either.

if Kraft took the whistle and clipboard from him. I don't know if it is pure arrogance that is fueling I'm or Ronald Reagan/Joe Biden dementia at this moment. His draft record was very suspect and Matt Patricia as your OC is beyond head-scratching. And there is little to no talent on this roster. He needs to get into a consulting position and give up the reigns. This could possibly be his last season.
