The winery choices are something you’ll have to decide yourself. I’m partial to cabs from Napa, but pinots from Sonoma are awesome. As with anything that’s a generalization.
As to food, I could not agree more with the poster above- Mustards Grill in Napa is outstanding, yet not crazily priced like say, The French Laundry. That said, just a stone’s throw down the street from Keller’s French Laundry is his bistro Bouchon. Reasonably priced but delicious. I could live on their onion soup and Croque Madame.
As to Sonoma restaurants, The Girl and The Fig is always exceptional.
If you have more specific questions I’ll do my best to answer. Otherwise enjoy your trip.
And go to thumbprint winery in town. I was so impressed I became a member. Vegan and sustainable wines that are all 90 points and higher. I love that place.

I second Mustards Grill. I also enjoyed Bistro Jeanty If you feel like upscale dining, Auberge du Soleil is really good.
I’m a cab fan, so I prefer the vineyards in Napa to Sonoma. My top 3 are Freemark Abbey, Joseph Phelps & Il Briganti. Rutherford is also very good.
Sterling Vineyard has an amazing view. It requires a gondola ride to the top of their mountain. The wine is not so great, though.
-Mustard's Grill
-Rutherford's Grill
-Goose and Gander (north of Napa in Helena. Worth it, awesome downstairs bar, very cool town, and a great ride up via Silverado Trail)
-Oxbow Public Market for lunch
-The Girl and The Fig (Sonoma)
-FARM at Carneros (cool vibe for a drink outside. Food good too).
For wineries, you really can't go wrong wherever you go. But I recommend Clos du Val, Sequoia Grove, and the tour at Opus One was nice. Also, stop into Oakville Grocery for a coffee. Touristy, but a must-do IMO. Enjoy!
Stags Leap, Clos Du Val, Peju - fantastic region, you should definitely include it in your itinerary.
Calistoga, which is north up the valley, is a really beautiful and interesting place, too.

I loved Calistoga as well. That’s where I used to stay when I went to the area
I appreciate it. This board gave us great suggestions before when I asked. Now have to be in Lake Tahoe for a wedding. Any can’t miss places to hit there?

Beer Barron is a small chain that has good alcohol selection and good food.
French Laundry is the big foodie destination.
