story and incident. I'm kind of surprised they didn't just settle with him. No idea what the defense would be other than they just f-ed up.
He was having a great season at the time

Too if memory serves. That literally may have changed the trajectory of his entire career and life. What if the Chargers had gone on to win the Super Bowl with him at the helm. I’d be looking at serious punitive damages if I were him. That may have been his last shot as the starter on not only a contender, but any team in the league.
I'm sure...

Your memory doesn't serve you correctly. Taylor played one game in 2020. The opener against Cincinnati, and that was a decent performance.

He was ruled out of game two with the lung issue, and then the baton was passed to Justin Herbert, who is on a HoFame trajectory right now.
And also

to be honest, Taylor started the next season, while the backup for Deshaun Watson who it was widely believed would not play for the Texans.

And he got injured and then failed to win that job and was ultimately benched for Davis Mills.

Seems like a good dude, and the medical angle sounds absolutely like a mistake, but sometimes claims are exaggerated.
It's a known risk of the procedure

Intercostal nerve blocks can be dangerous. The key is if the doc followed standard protocols.
