I'd argue the nucleus is already here. Next year wouldl NOT be a rebuilding year. It's likely a "add your final pieces year" to make a real run for the postseason.

Lol, if they do that, all the good work they did this year will be wasted.
Jones made a play and didn't turn the ball over, but other than that he was horrible And Barkley will never be worth a second contract.
Graham would have had them playing off coverage and giving up ground for time....Wink is much more aggressive Nd you can see he brings the pressure at the end there to close it out!

Eh Jones needs to show more, a lot more. He played a solid game and made the play to win the game but lets see how he does throughout the season.
in the 1st half? Pitiful play calling on the two turnovers - jet sweeps that early with that little room don't work. 3 runs by Jones....
Unfortunately the stream crapped out for the last 4 minutes.
But they showed guts and won.
The blocking was the problem on those plays, not the playcalls.
Yes bad blocking, but the play calling was terrible. It absolutely was.
I didn’t have an issue with the play calling b/c the D was focused on Barkley. On 2 of those runs they didn’t block the LB. That’s an execution problem

Jones wasn’t horrible. Is he the QB next year? Probably not. But he wasn’t horrible today

Let’s slow down. It’s two games they’ve had to fight and claw in. Winning tends to color up and over from folks seeing the bad a bit just like losing begets losing. This is a long season and new regime will get to make the calls.

He missed some open receivers and is too slow at processing still. He seems to panic still too much when things break down around him.

Exactly.. Agree. The offense needs to improve in so many ways. Every team will be gunning for Barkley, so they better start getting creative!

He was really bad today.
Once the staff find a QB they’ll be cooking
Jones has been managing games - like 2/3 of the QBs in
the NFL do. IF you aren't talking about the top 10 or so then this is a solid game that the coaches will want to see. No one thinks he can win it by himself.
Also two games in a row he has made big plays down the stretch. He is improving and I still think he is a 16 or so QB in this league.

The garbage they invested in (Golloday, Toney, etc.) is doing nothing and they’re still finding ways to win. That means something.
He talks so much about having confidence in the players and his coaches. Hey, I get it, it’s easy when you’re winning. But this fucking brass balled Canadian is really getting it done!
left of the qb looks like a garbage designed play. Half the time saquon had massive holes available if they were to actually give him the ball there instead of fake it.
just sucks Jones spent all training camp trying to throw to golladay who probably isnt going to play at all this yr. Wish Jones had some trust in guys other than Sills and Richie James.

The fact is, this NYG team is absolutely performing above expectations thus far.
They don't have a number one WR (just a very expensive placeholder on the roster, who I'd honestly just cut at this point in time, make a statement to the team and take the cap pain now), several of their top defensive players are hurt, and the new coach and GM had limited money during the off-season to make the changes they wanted.
Despite all of this, we're 2-0 into the first rebuild year. We may have found our GM and HC to last many, MANY years, and they're both young too.
It's fun to be a NYG fan again. Thank you for the hard work Giants!
I'm not a jones hater and he got crushed for a lot that wasn't his fault in the first half last week. But, today he was not good.
How do you know that? You been watching all 22? Got a good idea of the reeds?
I swear the fact we’ve had Moose and Stink announcing most our games y’all have think he’s a lot worse than he is. They are the D and F team and because we’ve sucked we get these two know nothings way too icg

DJ played horrible? If you look at his numbers they’re in line with other QB’s who played today. Get a freakin clue Jethro.
What they ask of him should tell you what they think of him, at least at this point. The game plan seems to prioritize easy completions and I forget who but a play by play guy interviewed Jones and he talked about really simplifying things.
He’s shown to be a game manager. You ask him to minimize risks because he doesn’t have the ability to make up for it with consistent big plays.
He’ll most likely have a few games where things click and he throws for 300 yards and a few touchdowns, he’ll also have a few stinkers. Thats what you get with average quarterbacks.
He would need to put up something like 4000 Yards, 30 + TD’s and under 10 picks for an entirely new regime to commit to him. Its not gonna happen.
This offense needs the run game to get going to really build momentum, every other team in the league knows that too. Will be interesting to see how they counter that.
We are going to play a lot of games that look like this
this year with our schedule. Grindy FG games against mediocre/bad teams.
Good for the new staff to get off to a good start in the 1st 2. We'll win some and lose some. I'd advise not to get too upset when we lose them. Teams tend to play around .500 in close games.
I like the program we have in place - we are going to need a much much better offense to be a good team though.

Somebody said it at halftime (Sean Payton?) - said something like
- Teaching a young team how to win and installing a winning culture is the job now .... cleaning up the mistakes and technique will come with time.
Except for the one long run by McCaffrey they largely kept him in check

There is no such thing as an ugly win. They are all beautiful.
More like took a dump on Mara’s head

What I found interesting was when he said "When they win...." like he knew we were winning the game.
THIS.
