You have ajr on here, already setting it up to be a long week of bitching about Jones and making up stats to support why he's terrible.
I doubt he'll say anything about Jones having the highest pressure rate in the league this far on almost 70% of his throws though. He'll have you believe there's a clean pocket and Jones is just terrible - and we keep winning despite him.
Not sure how you win "despite" a guy closing out the last drive with the winning first down or who made the last FG possible, but he'll be here to tell you.
I'm sorry he's having such a tough time with the team at 2-0.
I didn't say you don't like the Giants if you don't like Jones - I said you're going to spend a lot of time this week posting about how terrible Jones was - just like you foolishly did last week.
You grasp of vocabulary is about as good as your self-awareness. I put the over/under at 100 posts you make this week talking about Jones.
But I guess others can't talk about how much of a dipshit you are without them being a burner account! Idiot
There’s one dipshit here and it’s you.
RE: Remind me again why it’s ok to say Golladay sucks
Not a lot of star plays but they battled thru it and got the winnat home versus a flawed team.
Feliciano had some decent plays and a bunch of negative ones. Jones looks lost when he drops back way too many times but he has decent wheels. Golladay is a waste of time. Toney finally made a few plays and either it gets called back or Jones can’t find him. No rapport with WRs...none. Why is that?
Gano gets us to 2-0...who’s up next to face this offensive powerhouse!
.
They are both flawed teams, but that's a game they would have lost last year for sure. So that's some progress.
Agreed. A little bit more Saquon, a little more defense, and better coaching pulling us thru so far.
Saying jones was terrible today are the same people that laughed me off a thread last year when i dared to say that baker mayfield isn’t any better than Daniel jones.
We care to revisit that gem from last year or no? Baker had more time than DJ and put up less points and LOST. But please tell me he’s so much better.
Jones was OK. Not great, but he got the win and kept the ball at the end. Keep it up. Once again this coaching staff shows it belongs.
RE: Remind me again why it’s ok to say Golladay sucks
Considering what he had to work with and protection he didn’t get. Stats are ok no interceptions 65% passes completed but some moron has to say he’s missing guys all over the field. Not to mention another Giants win.
Played well today, but I also know less than nothing about playing quarterback, especially at the pro level. He did feel Jones was not well protected today. However, I also felt when he had a chance to make plays he did not make enough
in the offensive rhythm early too. The playcalling sequence to start the game was silly. And it looked like for some reason the Panthers DL was getting a much better jump off the snap, which made it tough to run or pass block.
Usually you see that happen to the road team, not the home team. Giants were taking too long to run their plays and had no flow.
Jones struggled - but this offense overall is a work in progress and still looks very new.

He was missing guys. 5.2 yards per attempt is not good, especially against a team that isn’t good.
The Giants are 2-0, Daniel Jones hasn’t been good, they need better QB play to be a serious contender, and this coaching staff may be lite.
All things are true and the Giants are at least a fun team to root for again.
Could be the same people who laughed me off that thread—-who knows I don’t care I just know for a fact baker mayfield has to be the most overrated qb going but it won’t last as the jig is up for baker. No more commercials for this guy. He’s a jag.
Jones gets to keep it going. Maybe he never starts again after this year but he’s not that bad, some of you need to watch the game more objectively.
and they won both which is a tangible measuring stick for QB play. He's basically been Tannehill. I haven't seen any strong pro-extension threads so i think the majority are pretty clear eyed that there's still a lot left to be desired. That doesn't seem incompatible with crediting that his performance has been a positive so far.

last week barkley faced 8+ in the box very rarely. I haven't seen the numbers for this week posted yet but it appeared the Panthers started the game with a lot of guys at the LOS (which is why the run game went nowhere early on).

If FGS go the other way are his performances still a positive? The answer is no. This team may have a legit shot at winning the division and if they don’t it will likely be because of the quarterback. We’ve faced a running offense and a bad offense the first two weeks. If the Lions, Eagles and Commanders offenses are legit, can Jones step up enough to keep up?

From the end zone it looked like 8+ in the box a majority of the time on 1st and 2nd down.

Fair. He might he starting next year if the giants don’t love any of the qbs available in the latter stages of round 1. As it looks right now we ain’t picking top 10-15.
RE: It just gets old reading about what a disaster Jones is.
He's not that bad. He made a few runs today for first downs most qbs don't make. He throws to no name WRs and is the most pressured QB in the NFL. If you think we are winning in spite of Jones...you're probably wrong.
No one is saying he is a disaster, just that we’ve seen nothing that warrants spending $30+ mill on him next year.
You must have been sitting in the handicapped section cause you are blind. You average 5 yds an attempt cause you are under pressure constantly and you only have time for your first read or run. Did you see how shitty our interior OL played? Why we couldn’t run or pass? Baker missed receivers. He had time to read the defense. Two games in a row and he still completed 81% and 65% with no Wrs or OL. And he is one tough SOB.

to answer your first question, whether or not a FG kicker makes or misses a kick has very little impact on me - and in previous years some of the games i was most encouraged by with Jones had those plays go against - the washington game last year, tampa game vs. brady in their SB year, the kc game last year all come to mind. even his first start/first win against tampa had a missed kick at the end and I don't recall it stopping most everyone from being positive about what they saw.
Once they get past the Bears, they play some good offenses (at least as of now look good). They’re going to need to throw for more than 180 yards and score more points.
Was Jones good - no. Was he awful - no. Was he kinda below average - yes in both games
But he did engineer 4th quarter GW drives in both games
No surprise that Mike in Ohio and Googs, members of the "Jones sucks" club, come to the defense of Ajr, a fellow member
I asked the Jones Sucks crowd all spring and summer how would they root for the Giants to win while hoping Jones sucks? You can tell Ajr is struggling with it. He doesnt seem happy about either win, all he seems to care about is saying how bad Jones was in both games
The fact is Jones might be the best the Giants can do at QB next season. Doesnt seem like they will have a shot at Stroud or Young, and no one else in the draft class looks better than Jones
Tyrod isnt better, either. So where are they getting a QB better than Jones?
Gotta hope Jones, and the pass protection, get better as the season goes on

How am I struggling with the Giants winning? I was at the game and had a blast because It’s the first win I’ve been able to see in person in the last 5 years, despite going to at least 3 games a year. Have you read the threat about the defense? Or how after both games I’ve called the coaching staff elite? Or even complimenting Saqoun today. So saying Jones was bad today makes me not a Giants fan that enjoys being 2-0? I’d love to have a home playoff game to go to, that doesn’t mean I can’t also not want an improvement at quarterback
You guys can enjoy what ever fantasy gets you off.
Wasn’t this supposed to be the no excuse year? If he ends the year averaging 180 yards a game is it going to be everyone else’s fault?
There is no Daniel Jones Fan Club, but there is a constant din from the anti-Jonesers that even those of us that know he isn't the answer are tired of hearing. They won. He did enough to win. It wasn't particularly sharp, but it also wasn't a failure. He lead a drive to get the GW field goal, and then ran out the clock to seal the win. It is more than he has done in the past.
As the year proceeds and the oline gels and they finally settle on some WRs that can make plays, perhaps he will look better.
IDK, but I am going to enjoy them winning. If you chose not to enjoy the wins, then it is you that has a problem.

Who isn’t enjoying the win?
You are definitely not enjoying it, by reading your posts.
No assumption. You are just a miserable person with a bad attitude. Constantly bitching and getting in fights with other posters.
Have a nice evening picking your next fight.

Picking fights? Fat man attacked me. Should I not defend myself?
I’ve complimented the Giants a million time for today. How is that a bad attitude and how am I a miserable person?
Or do you only see the posts that fits your narrative?
So when the Giants were driving for the GW score in each game, what were you rooting for to happen? To win it, Jones would have to produce in those drives (which he did). But if Jones produces and wins, you look like an idiot for saying Jones sucks
To me, Jones has been below average so far - but has produced when it mattered most in the 4th quarter
Again the question is who can they get as a better QB?

It’s Week 2. We’re a long way from knowing who is going to be an option to improve the QB position.
Of course I was rooting for the Giants to win, I don’t spend $10k on tickets a year and travel to Jersey 4 times a year to root for the Giants to lose. If I did I would give up my tickets.
Jones not being good and them winning doesn’t make me look like an idiot. I know it’s hard to hold two thoughts in your head at once, but try it sometimes.

Yup, Mayfield Blows.
And a lot know nothings on this board were claiming he was a good QB.
And they wonder why folks don't give a shit about their DJ opinions.

Love this coach. He has them overperforming
I don’t think it s possibly to “over perform”. Maybe guys like Ximines, are just better than we thought, coaching matters

If being critical makes a miserable person so be it.

So you have to root for Jones to succeed, which goes against everything you say about him here
Jones gets to keep it going. Maybe he never starts again after this year but he’s not that bad, some of you need to watch the game more objectively.
Yup, Mayfield Blows.
And a lot know nothings on this board were claiming he was a good QB.
And they wonder why folks don't give a shit about their DJ opinions.
