If your D has an offense third and long and they convert, it's so demoralizing.

On the opposite side, if your offense converts, that is such a huge lift to the team.

Would have been a 10 year game changer alright...perhaps in the worst way possible. Let's run this through. Giants draft parsons and perhaps win a couple of the close games they lost.
