Not his best stat game, but he ran like a bulldog when it counted most in the 4th quarter. I also thought I saw him do a good job with a couple blitz pickups (he did have that one mediocre on that we all saw easily)
I agree with Thunderstruck. That was a soft call on that flag. Wish they would've replayed it to actually show it closer. Holmes is also a pretty tough tackler and broke up a lot of screen/ McCaffery runs. I think he's a very solid player.
1. Gano
2. Ximines
3. Adoree
4. McKinney
5. Dex
6. Love
7. Jihad
8. Saquon (great 2nd half)
9. Richie James - his catches were catalysts on the TD drive
10. Holmes- better day in coverage + FF
OL wise- don’t remember anyone standing out. I’m sure Thomas was good but he did get beat a couple times
Duds
1. Golladay
2. IOL
3. DJ - 2nd half was better but man did he leave a ton of opportunities on the field by not seeing open receivers. Turn it lose DJ

I was unable to see Jones missing not seeing wide open receivers like you saw….I watched on tv….were you there at the game?

I'm sure heis just regurgitating what other posters have said
Toney dropping what looked to be a huge gainer was disappointing.
The interior of the OL was mauled today.
I really felt today we out coached the Panthers and that's why we won. Impressive.
Thank you for mentioning that like bills vs. Giants Superbowl that was a COACHiNG win over player talent win. The talent is a total MEH but you use the firepower when you need it(Gano) and you let Jones just win it ugly. At the end of the day the Giants won
for using a first round pick on Toney and signing Golladay.
But is he a dud then for Love, Lawrence, McKinney, Ximinez, Barkley, Holmes, Adore AT as well?
For about half of them- yes.
Also, just about any other competent GM would have drafted a number of decent players, so it's not like Gettleman is a genius for doing his job.
However: using a #2 pick on a running back, drafting an undoubtedly talented but still unreliable and gimmick or gadget receiver, and then throwing money at Golladay are not great strategies. We also don't have a franchise QB.
It's my opinion (and I believe the opinion of the vast majority) that he left the team in horrible, horrible shape. A couple of things went his way. Most did not. I fail to see any room for debate there. Judge his overall body of work. Same with judging the dud/stud category. I'm sure all of the duds made at least one good play and the studs made some bad plays.
I have seen good and bad things about Jones and was hopeful but I made a conscious effort to never join in the Jones discussions. Yesterday during the first half I was so frustrated about his inability to see the field that I finally threw in the towel and commented here that it was not going to work.
He is never going to be up with the very best qbs which is what some here will never settle for less but there are simply not enough in that class to go around. Can he be enough for us? I don’t know and it depends on what the coaches think and want but yesterday despite the second half leaves me in great doubt.
I really hope he can improve because I see no really top alternative in our future.
I've been on the fence, but with each passing game, there's less and less reason to be optimistic. At the point you made the comment, it really seemed DJ was a flat tire with nothing more to show. Didn't the bastard bounce back, though!
I was thinking he might show enough to warrant a low cost bridge contract. Unless he really steps up, no one is giving him anything but a show me contract. I'm still on the fence about whether even that is worth it.
Obviously, replace him if possible. But is there anyone? Don't think we'll be within reach of the top draft prospects.
Duds: KG & KT89.
Jones run to seal it was very cool.

I'd argue that the refs made a few shit calls against us. The Holmes penalty looked like nothing...almost as bad as the opi against Sills they called.

Why KT?

Had like 2 drops and 2 negative plays

Never gonna get past the Jones hate, are ya?

Holmes gets an awful penalty every game. He sucks as a cb. Nice play on ythe forced fumble, but im looking forward to when we can upgrade at nickel.

Cannot blame him on the runs - that is silly - crappy blocking and bad calls. I did not see the drops.

You have no idea how I felt about Jones. Never even mentioned him on BBI until today on the game thread.
Of all the games to put Jones in the dud category, I’m not sure a game that they won and he didn’t turn the ball over is anywhere near the list
It's a fairly decent description of DJ's day.
