I thought even Thomas was meh at best. Ezeudu was awful. Didn’t focus on Neal much. Barkley couldn’t get loose and just happy the Giants again found a way to win. Wink should get a game ball with dialing up the effective blitzes once we lost Williams (who was getting in the panthers backfield at will today)
Yep
Then get him out of there.
Pretty sorry thought if we don’t have a healthy guy who isn’t better than an injured Feliciano.
It’s still a like that needs some improvements this offseason
of our QB. The pass blocking has been scary over first two games. And the run blocking today got pretty much stoned.
Not quite sure how the Giants pulled out this win today, but hey all is good in Giants-Land.
If they get Lemieux back, that will help a bit, but he's no star either. Ditto for Nick Gates.
They need to draft some better OGs next year. Guys who will become starters.
We said the same about Tenn. is the panthers DL really that good?

This investment was just to get to an average line !

It’s probably better than Tennessee without Landry imo.

Yes. Derrick Brown and Brian Burns are very good and Yetur Gross Matos is coming on. We don't have one WR who scares anyone and they dared Jones to best them. He and the defense did enough to win.
It didn’t seem like they were putting 8 in the box to stop Barkley?
And as mentioned above, Carolina has a very solid front seven.
Personally, I thought Jones had decent time to throw for much of the game. He just didn't make enough plays.

Or maybe our young guys will continue to develop and be better next year. I’m all for adding a player or two in the mid to late rounds but I wouldn’t expect them to step right in and win any starting jobs. I look forward to not having to sign aging veterans to above minimum deals for depth. Hopefully by next year we have Thomas and Neal, LeMieux, Gates, Bredeson, Ezuedo, Glowinski, and one or two of McKethan, Peart or Feliciano plus a rookie or two. Maybe Devery Hamilton continues to get better. More than anything I think they just need time playing together and getting comfortable in the scheme.
Feliciano is really the only older guy on a one year deal. His return probably depends more on the health of Gates or the readiness of the loser of the left guard competition to slide over.
Patience is hard, but I’d rather see higher picks used elsewhere.

Glowinski was fine in the preseason and Week 1. Let's not overreact here.

I thought that when he had time hei did pretty well. Shep is not the guy you want running deep. He also had a nice play to Sills called back

How? Ben Bredeson is the backup center but he's been playing most of the time at LG. Shane Lemieux is on IR and can't come back for at least two more weeks. Ezeudu struggled again today and if the Giants had to insert him in the lineup full time it would probably further weaken the line. Remember that the Giants currently have four new starters along the OL that haven't played together. It takes time for them to gel.

Carolina did have the 2nd ranked defense in the league last year. Defense is NOT the issue on that team.

Wow I didn’t know their defense was that good last year.
And have they created one legitimate pass pocket for Daniel Jones to step up into?
Jones has been sacked something like 8 times in two games, and has had to run for his life on several plays.
This O-line has not shown it can pass block. Hope that changes by the second half of the season.
Today was rough, but great trial by fire. I don't think any teams win the big one if they don't get used to overcoming adversity.
When talented pros get called out like that in a week of game prep, it's usually not a good omen for the next opponent.

I agree there’s not much help there but I think maybe Bredeson could be a bit better at C than what we’re getting from him at LG or what we’re getting at C right now.
That leaves LG at the weakest spot for now and let the rookie grow there until Shane gets healthy. Them whoever is better there gets the spot.
Right now I think we could live with the LG play if we were getting better play at C. I’m speaking as just a fan obviously and with how good this staff has been, I have confidence they’ll do what they see as the best way to fix the interior OL play.
As a side note, I’d really like to see them try and get Saquon out on the edge a bit more.

He had one negative play for sure, but other wise was hardly the problem.
If we can get to average oline play week in and week out, Daboll and Kafka will have this offense in the top end of the league in a year or two.

Panthers had film on the line that the Titans did not. The Cowboys will look to exploit those same weaknesses to.
It is up to OL coach and the players to improve the play. They really are only marginally better than last season, but there is room for growth.
