because my wife is a fan. I've loved Wink for years and was jacked that we picked him up. The Ravens lost their two starting CBs for much of the year last year, and to me, Wink unfairly was blamed for the Defense going south.
Lamar Jackson had 250 passing yards and 100 rushing yards with 4 TD's in basically 2 quarters of football and they just stopped flat when it was 35-14.
I'd make sure every defensive assistant is soaking up every nugget of defensive philosophy possible from Wink, in the event he gets the HC offer next year.
Have to take advantage of having him in the building this year.
i'll take an aggressive attacking defense who can get turnovers and sacks in big spots over a bend but don't break any day of the week and it's not even close. and that's with the understanding that yeah, we might give up a big play to lose a game.

I hope your right. Hope the Giants just take care of him $ wise and maybe title wise ( assistant HC, etc.). Best DC we have had since prime Spags. This defense plays team ball and no matter who is in they keep an aggressive style, how can you not like watching that. Hope he remains a Giants for the rest of his career, he and Daboll make for a great duo.

If anyone said before the season the Giants would be 2-0 despite losing 4 starters on defense you’d be ridiculed by the board. Wink is an outstanding coach who gets the most out of his players and runs a great scheme.

that both Harbaugh and Wink wanted to make a change. I think part of issue too was Wink wanted a raise and a little more control delegated from Harbaugh who is pretty involved in both the offense and defense from planning and player decisionmaking processes even if he lets coordinators do the playcalling.
He has been up for many over the years, I think he rubs GM the wrong way or something.

He's definitely not blitzing as much as he has in the past. Something to keep an eye on - may be getting muzzled.
Sure you worry about the the blitz mentality biting you but he can also adjust and that is the HC's job to monitor it imv.
It's not like they just didn't want him anymore.

Wink has done an outstanding job with the players he has (and doesn't have). I feel like he could plug me in and I could get a sack.
