I think that BB's goal as well. You can't really control things outside of yourself so much but the goal is to be prepared to do what you're supposed to do to win and let the chips fall where they may win or lose.
but get sick of him saying "How you doing?" every time he answers a question. A pet peeve.
Hmm, well besides a litany of other things about Joe Judge that I hated, I hated him saying "With That Being Said" over and over again.. GRRR, just finger nails on a chalk board.
It's not like they blew either team out. I was getting that sinking feeling the pathers were going to beat them because they were riding on the Tennessee win rather than this week's game.
Good job by the coaches of bringing them to reality.

I think it’s one of his ways of trying to stay in good terms with the media instead of talking to them like they are fools (some of them are). Something Judge and McAdoo were incapable of.

Yep which is I m sure why he always say I tell my players whether we won this game or lost this game it's about the process.

It’s not easy being up there speaking. Josh McDaniels said “you know” about 100 times in his post game presser yesterday. Joe Judge said “right there” all the time.
It's a great thing, but in the moment it bugs me. We haven't been good for so long and all I want is to see a smiling coach lauding his players. And when he's up there stating over and over again how we are so far away and have so much to work on, it almost makes it feel like everything is a mirage and there's no reason to be excited.
But as said, that's just in the moment. I know this is a good thing. I don't want a coach patting himself, and more importantly, the players on the back after every single win. As he often says, the game will humble you, and it'll hurt even more if the team isn't prepared for it.
I love that he's staying humble and not getting too high. You do that enough and all of a sudden you're going to blink and the season will be 2/3s over and we'll still be holding playoff positioning.

Us fans can celebrate and feel good but he’s right, the team hasn’t accomplished anything yet and they’ve looked mediocre doing it.
He did praise DJ and a few players though. I don’t think he’s being a pessimist, rather a realist. Which is what good managers do.
He has high expectations for the team and expects better from them. Nothing wrong with that. We saw last week he also doesn’t mind celebrating a big win.
I think a coaches press conference should have nothing quotable and nothing interesting. The important communication happens in the locker room and we won’t hear that.
He’s said you can’t get too high or too low after theses games....

Exactly. The #1 goal for these interviews is not to give the media fodder to run with. From what we've seen from him on the sidelines, he can clearly bring emotion and be positive/critical when needed.
When putting on his public face, I'd say Daboll's got that pragmatic, salt-of-the-earth upstate NY energy going, and that's what this team needs right now.
I heard two different players say in post-game interviews that "it's hard to win a game in this league."
Maybe it's just me, but I think that's a slightly better perspective than "they're all good teams/players" or "on any given day..."
Less neutral; more accomplishment-focused.
The former head coach really dulled the value of the Belichick/Saban connection… but you can definitely see it in Daboll from time to time
Personally I think he’s a little more like Saban in these press conferences
