My son saw this earlier today on either Twitter or IG. Had not realized it. Pretty cool.
* Terrance Gore played in 9 games for the 2015 KC Royals. They won the World Series.
* Terrance Gore played in 2 games for the 2020 LA Dodgers. They won the World Series.
* Terrance Gore played in 1 game for the 2021 Atlanta Braves. They won the World Series.
* Terrance Gore has played in 5 game for the 2022 NY Mets. ...
Very bizarre stats for the 31-year-old Gore in his full career. He has 15 base hits (2 doubles, 1 triple) in 69 official ABs (79 plate appearances). He's walked 7 times and struck out 25.
But that's not why he keeps popping up. Gore has 43 steals (3-for-3 as a Met, so far).
Mercenary!

On to tonight's game, 7:40 p.m. start.
Max returns (9-4, 2.26) v. Corbin Burnes (10-7, 2.97). Battle of the Cy awards.
LFG!
It gonna come down to those 3 games when we play them.

LOL!!! That exchange with Keith and Gary over the chair was HILARIOUS
LOL, Speedy, they're continuing the chair schtick.

FFS we can't shake them.

Yep. ATL is not going to do stupid things like, i don’t know, get swept at home by teams like the Cubs.
😡😡
Mets need to assume ATL will keep winning, so they need to do the same.

anyone hear an update on marte lately?
Cohen said something on the broadcast about possible next week but a couple days ago it was being reported it could be season ending.
So I basically have no clue at this point
Where was it reported that it's a season ending injury? As of Saturday it was being reported that he may return before the end of the regular season
I just hope that we get the opportunity one more time this season to face Strider and show him how “lucky” we are.

Strider has been lined up with Jake, but Barves have more games to play than the Mets before their series next weekend. I think we will miss Strider and Wright. Morton, Fried and Odorizzi unless they juggle or there are rain outs.
A guy who wrote a book about the Mets shook Marte's hand and that's what he told him but since that time it's apparent they do not in fact have a return date/timeline yet.
"But with about two and half weeks left in a heated battle with the Braves for the NL East title, the Mets and Marte do not have a firm idea of when, or if, one of the club’s most valuable players can suit up again."
Yep, it's a killer. I can "forgive" losing one game to the Nats (well, not really), but not taking 2/3 (if not 3/3) from CHI will highly likely be difference between 1st and 2nd place.

in time for the Braves series in Atlanta, which starts in ten days.

Ah, thanks Dan! I think I got that info then from one of your previous threads or posts here. I have a sneaking suspicion we won't see Marte until the NLDS (provided the Mets make it that far), which is another reason I hope they win the division. Their players need a break. All of them, especially Marte, deGrom, Scherzer, and Bassitt.
Why? Only if Toronto makes it too, right?

dropping the vaccination requirement 9/30. IF the Mets make the WS this would likely be a MAJOR positive change.

Correct but per Heyman the Mets and Phillies had multiple non-vaccinated "stars" that would be ineligible to play had this change not been made.
Just like NYC changed their ruling before the season I feel like Canada would have been pressured to as well, for something as important to the sport as the World Series.
Either way, it's moot now.

Yes. For the games in Toronto. You don't see this as potentially a big deal? It's breaking news and yes, could have very well severely impacted the Mets.

Big plus for Mets, Phillies and other postseason teams that have unvaccinated stars

It would have been a big deal in the World Series if Toronto made it that far, but a lot would have needed to happen before it became a big deal (to the Mets).
Gee, that's a shame...
If he went on the IL he would miss the Mets series, so I wonder if he's not going on the IL so as not to play their hand about his availability for that series?
Then again, perhaps he just has a very mild soreness and they are playing it extra cautiously...
