Giants S/ILB packages v. Panthers
3 Safety 1 ILB: 36 plays 62%
2 Safety 2 ILB: 12 plays 21%
4 Safety 0 ILB: 10 plays 17%
•Dane Belton was exclusively deep
•Brought in 2nd ILB when they wanted go into 2-high coverage
•4 Safety sets had Jefferson/McKinney/Love in box together
More than ever, this is a matchup-based league. There is no such thing as "my defense is a 3-4 or a 4-3".
Also says a lot about what they think of Dane Belton to put a rookie in center field.
No, I don't agree.
Wink is pretty straight forward. He has said repeatedly there will be times when he has four ILBs on the field and there will times when he has none.
I really recommend listening to his interview with Schmeelk.
The concept of a front 7 is outdated. Offense changed to pass more and put more pass catchers on the field. Defense responds. There is no real reason why a team has to have 7 DL + LB.
feels very lucky pat graham changed his mind.

is also playing a role. Their "best" ILBs are poor in coverage and not very stout versus the run either. They're also young and green as grass, so there's probably an element of making due here, in other words.

I will, but their ILB talent is below average too.
2 skills that matter- being able to blitz like your hairs on fire and create chaos for the QB, and being quick/long enough to drop and get into pass lanes if you aren't blitzing.
Besides CB and the single high safety, his defense puts the best 11 on the field, regardless of "position"

So it's an amoeba defense like Graham's.
