Probably not a lot of crow on the menu this past weekend. I loved my wings with Alabama sauce. Ate 2 1/2 pounds on my own :). What about you? Anything terrific that you made, brought in, had a restaurant or friend's house?
And I'm back on my damn computer, no more struggling with a tablet and phone
But it certainly took me back to my post midnight meals growing up.
And I had a bialy with butter when I got up. All I missed was pork roll.
outstanding and will be doing them again
Was really good. Never had it that way.
I normally do alot of cooking, but the wife must be in the nesting mode of this point of her pregnancy and I cannot complain right now.
Funny reading this, yesterday I was craving the same salad although I did slices. Threw on some prosciutto, EVOO & balsamic with sea salt. Delicious.
Love a good chowder
As soon as my fig tree starts producing :)
Been to Smugglers once to ski. That sounds like a great apres ski meal or lunch
I love the figs and goat cheese, don't usually like stuffing meats. But I'll keep it in mind. Thanks

lol. I'm having some defrosted eggplant/meatball,ziti tonight.
Caprese is a classic. I really like Chianti, but I find that when I serve it, not that many people do. I usually have to serve a cab on the side

I've never had it that way either. I've had it with a tomato base and also sweet and sour. But brown gravy sounds good, also

If she's willing to eat, let alone make, chicken enchiladas while pregnant, you should count your lucky stars :)

That looks like a great game day dish. I'm gonna find a recipe. Thanks
A guilty pleasure for me
How did you get that through spell check? :)
Coconut chicken? I've actually got a couple of recipes for that in my tablet. I'll have to try it this winter when I do more soups. Thanks
To a place close by at the beach. We both had heirloom tomato, buffalo bocconcini, balsamic reduction, and basil, celery micro greens it was delicious.
For entrees she has a pecan crusted Chilean seabass with a toasted sunflower gremolata and butternut squash puree she loved it. I had pork Osso Bucco braised in red wine with a parm Reggiano risotto and pan-fried asparagus with garlic and lardon it was excellent but very rich.
Depending on the recipe, it can be with or without chicken. I tried making it once but the results were kind of muddled. Thai dishes are often a combination of subtle, delicate flavors, and achieving the right balance between them can be tricky.

Both those dishes sound delicious, Scott. My wife and I always try to order 2 different things, which we both like, for each course, so we get to taste more things.
You do realize that there's a good chance that Twinkie was actually made 35 years ago?
I've had the opposite reaction to most childhood favorites, they hardly ever taste as good as I remembered.

The good thing, Greg, is that I don't eat Thai out very often, so I can delude myself into thinking the stuff I make at home actually tastes the way it should :)
Much better with Whipped Cream.
Also,
Does anyone have a good recipe for Bolognese and Penne Ala Vodka?
TIA

she's kind of picky. Probably the first twinkie I have had in 35 years. It tasted exactly as I remember it. Two thumbs up.

I agree — but this Twinkie still tasted like a….. Twinkie. Modern (even from 35 years ago) science really has its perks.

Is that for 2 different recipes, or for one that has Penne ala Vodka with bolognese in it?

I've got Cedar planks that have been sitting around for many years. Gotta remember to use them on of these days. Best wishes to your daughter, Monty

Scott (bb1124) posted a penne a la vodka recipe a while back. It's not a simple pasta only dish and it's just ingredients without amounts and instructions. I don't know if you want to go there. But if I have an occasion to make PALV, it'll be the one I use. I'll repost it:
Ingredients:
fresh roma tomatoes-blanched and peeled
vodka
cream
shallots
garlic
sun dried tomato
fresh peas
shitake mushrooms
grilled Italian herb chicken thighs.
penne
