NFT: Roy Jones Jr. vs. Richard Hall

BlackLight : 9/21/2022 1:20 am
Just a random RJJ fight from twenty years ago. I watch it every few months just because how freakishly talented Jones was in his prime.

You can watch the whole thing, but the clip starts in Round 6, about 23 minutes before the end.

Jones was phenomenal.

The late 90’s and early 2000’s era was actually great for boxing in general, particularly the non-heavyweight divisions.

Jones, Mosley, De La Hoya, Trinidad, Barrera, Whitaker, Hamed, Mayweather, Gatti, Vargas.

I used to love watching these guys right on HBO with my Dad back in the day.
Love Roy

My favorite boxer ever.
I forget who it was

A fight where the guy had a big reach and Jones was having a tough time getting inside. So he punched the guys jabbing arm so much he couldn’t lift it anymore.
Roy was crazy talented

Once he slowed, the warts came out
And his not so great chin too
But he was ridiculous mid to late 90s
RJj vs Paz in 96 is a destruction
Would’ve loved to see Roy vs hearts prime for prime ( missed that by 10 yrs)
Think Roy would have had some real issues hearns jab and straight right
when people wonder

what "quick-twitch" means in terms of athletics, just show them a vid of Young Roy Jones Jr.

Never seen another great boxer rely as heavily on their natural athletic ability than him. His technique wasn't the tightest, but it just didn't matter because he moved in a way humans aren't supposed to move.
