Stopped reading after Brady.

You combine our o-line and skill positions and put Brady behind Center. I think you would see something below HOF performances.

Toney and Robinson have to be evaluated on what they are in this offense, not what they might become. With an honest evaluation this is the least inspiring group of so-called pro receivers ever assembled.
Certainly not a current list

It's always the same deal. Look at the QB as a separate entity (never the parts around him). Not a big fan of Jones but the gurus always fail to include the circumstances. Agree about the state of the Giants WR crew (as least right now).

I be a little concerned if I were Cincinnati with Burrows.
I don't think Cousins is very good, Dak either (way overrated)
PatersonPlank : 9/21/2022 10:36 am : link
In fact I would drop Burrow to very good, not elite. Also I realize that Murray puts up some highlight reel stuff, but I wouldn't put him in the same category as Wilson. He is next level down IMO

Wha?? You want to stick with this take? Maybe "right now" if you mean this very second, but we are less than months removed from the end of a season in which he led the league in yards, TDs and completions and finished second in MVP voting.

I did. You're saying he's not elite based on 2 games.
“If healthy and maybe add a weapon”
UConn4523 : 9/21/2022 11:11 am : link
if you think he’s elite without some combo of 2 or 3 of a healthy and productive Evans/Godwin/Brown/Gronk than we just won’t agree and should move on.

So if they add to it, I’ll revisit, as I said already.

Wake up Alamo. Your Fair to Good says “not much chance to ……….even win a game.” Just reading what you wrote. Anyway, I disagree with the premise that you can’t win a playoff game with fair to good QB. I would be surprised if you didn’t find half a dozen playoff games in past 5 years that were won by QBs still active in the league that are not on your elite/VG lists.

I should have written my words better..Your right about that..My intention was to get accross that QB's that fall into the Fair to Good category have less of a chance to make it to a SB..And even winning one playoff game is probably not in their future..There are players in that group that have won playoff games, but not the big one..Was it their performace, ot the Defence,or whatever, they did not win..More then likely, the winning team had the Elite QB..

Not like I’ve never misspoken. Anyway no argument that QB is maybe the biggest part of the process, but it’s not the whole story. Simms beat HOFer in SB. Hostetler did as well. Eli beat the GOAT. Twice. JUst feels sometimes that people think that QB is the only issue that has to be addressed.

factor in support of run game, defense, coaching?

If it's just a straight up list, you have to throw in Garoppolo, Goff, and a bunch of others on it for having gotten to Super Bowls, or won 1 or 2 playoff games on the way there.

And as much as people want to say coaching/run game/defenses are carrying QBs.....keep in mind in the postseason, everyone has a decent amount of all that, just varying levels of how good.

Reality is this:

If you don't have an elite QB, then you're gonna need special firepower to get a Super Bowl victory.

Playoff games can be won by very many QBs.

there are 6 imo
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 9/21/2022 12:56 pm : link
Mahomes
Allen
Herbert
Burrow
Rodgers
Brady

In some order those are the guys, the 4 young guns and the 2 legends. Brady is the biggest question mark due to age, but he's Tom Brady and I need to see him struggle to believe it.

Jackson
Wilson
Stafford

Wilson and Stafford both proved to be Championship quality QBs, but they were on some loaded teams and there are questions about them as they are getting older now. Both guys are also more inconsistent than the "Top 6" even when they're on their game.

Jackson is the most unique weapon in the game and kind of belongs on his own tier. I put him with Wilson/Stafford in the "next best guys" tier but he's a different type of player at a different stage in his career.

After that you have a ton of guys in the mix.

Burrow is under way more pressure than Jones. Are you not worried about Jones, or do "circumstances" only matter when it is the guy you are defending?

What I did was I looked up all the starting QB's right now,and Lance was in the 20..But I forgot about Goff, and that was a mistake..I forgot Goff, and not Wentz was the MAN..I always liked Goff more then Wentz..I would make a great sports writter, because I leave important info out of my reports..Like Lance is out hurt, and the QB with the name I can't spell,is now in...IN THE VG GROUPING..Had to make sure I wrote the last few words,or I would catch a little hell here..👹👹😈😈

QBs are first and foremost differentiated by their talent. Jones has less talent than the top QBs discussed here, such as Burrow, Brady and Mahomes
Based on what I've seen...
bw in dc : 9/22/2022 11:55 am : link
The QBs playing at an elite level right now are Allen, Mahomes, LJax, Herbert and Tua*.

And I give Tua an asterisk because I'm not convinced what I am seeing with Miami's offense is Tua's ascension or if he's a passenger in McDaniel's system filled with elite offensive speed and skill. Time will tell.

There is just a lot of mediocre-poor QB play throughout the league right now. Brady looks lost. Rodgers is still going through growing pains with that receiving corp. Burrow is just off with his decision making. On and on.
I just want to say I was alone on an island here regarding Tua
Producer : 9/22/2022 1:17 pm : link
I always said it was too soon to cast him as a failure owing to his one singularly ite trait - accuracy.
