How much did Arizona State want Herm Edwards out as head coach? Reportedly, coaches were willing to throw him under the bus for a chance to send him packing.
According to a report from The Athletic shared by the RedditCFB Twitter account, athletic department staffers were willing to share their game plans with opposing coaches to make it seem as if Edwards was in over his head. Per The Atheltic’s Doug Haller, getting intel on the Sun Devils’ game plan “wasn’t hard” as the staff had checked out on Edwards running the show. |
Maybe the staffers thought he was laying the blame on others.
I have no idea what it's like to work for Herm Edwards, but that is some pussified shit.

Agree. I don’t follow ASU so not sure if Edwards deserved to be fired or not, but whoever was involved with this (if true) comes out looking pretty ugly.

Also agree and the NCAA loves to hammer mid tier or lower tier programs for crap while the big boys do the same or worse and nothing happens. Total joke of an organization.
No he left earlier this year to become the Raiders LB coach. Although the ultimate blame has to fall on the HC....as I understand it Pierce was the primary party responsible for a lot of the recruiting violations. Probably best he is out of CFB. Seems like a lot of Herm's staff....and Herm himself....which was basically a lot of ex NFL'ers, were comfortable with the coaching end of things, but not comfortable at all with all the NCAA rules and regulations that had to be followed surrounding recruiting, visits, etc....
There are lines in every business you just can't cross — at least, not if you want to stay in the business. This seems like one of them to me.

Ahh. The good old Manzanita dorms.
