What's the 1st play you call ??
I'm thinking a long pass 35/40 yds to Slayton or Shep..Even if not complete, you have to make them leary that you might try a couple more during the game..What U say ??
Try some trick plays like a half back option pass or a flea flicker. I'm done with seeing reverse and double reverses... by the time the player gets back to the line of scrimmage they are tackled & we never get anything out of it. Maybe a yard or two. Daboll hasn't tried it yet but he's more than welcome to not bother.
But also, there needs to be a commitment to run the ball between the tackles. The Cowboys' defense is much better against the run outside the tackles, they struggle against the run between the tackles.
It also may surprise BBIers that Saquon's early season metrics as being more effective between the tackles than running outside as well.
Throw delayed screens on his side
Do this a few times they will adjust then throw it to where the adjustment comes from
Likely a LB will rotate...this will open up Sheppard in the slot

I haven't seen much evidence that Parsons is terribly vulnerable to that though. Has a team hurt him badly that way?

That’s a good question. He moves so well in space I’m not sure I’d endorse it.
On the first play we must pick up at least 5 yards. I'll call whatever is most likely to get at least 5 yards.
THEN, we will be less predictable and I can use all my imagination on second and short to either run, or pass, or use a trick play.
If the first play is a bust, Dallas and everyone else in the stadium will be expecting a short pass. Pass coverage will be tight, and there will probably be a blitz from the Cowboys.
Are we good at really short passes? No. Is our OL very good at pass protection? No. (I just hope that Jones has been practicing sprint-out passes because life in the pocket for Jones will be very short.)
Three-and-out is the very last result I want on the first series of plays.
I was also thinking PA to Barkley not necessarily to Toney, but that would be cool. Being an optimist, I'm still hoping Toney really is managing a hammy yet contributes at some pt. Monday night would be great time for it.
Love the idea of PA on 1st play. Dallas would totally be expecting hand off to Barkley.
you have to think they are going to be keyed on barkley so i'd do a fake screen to barkley, then come back to bellinger (who looked pretty good with the ball in his hands last week) or something like that.
give the defensive ends something to think about right away, then settle in. on the next play after that maybe call a deep shot and keep a RB or TE (or both) in to chip lawrence and parsons. maybe put brightwell or myrick in just to do that.
i'd also have a lot of golladay plays underneath tee'd up. put the ball in his hands and see if he can take out some of his aggression on the dallas DBs. if he could have a game like the saints game last year on national tv that would be a very good thing for the organization pre-deadline.
Disguised runs directly at Parsons 80% of the time
Yeah I like the idea of Neal and Thomas run blocking Parsons with us running right at him. That dude is a baller and so athletic that any thing else increases his chances of making a play in the running game because of his speed.
My goodness I hate thinking that he could be wearing our shade of blue.

Toney on a deep cross, if he plays

Oh wait, he’s injured
Isn't he like 50 years old now?
I’d like to see a successful run option. Get the hesitations going, not only vertically, but also horizontally.

Requires tricky pre-snap play calling.

this and this

No wait-that’s a good play…. He can run side line patterns from one end of the bench to the other….if he doesn’t get hurt!
I'm not sure if James or Sills are speedsters.....Just send it to our fastest guy
Let's Go Giants!!!!
