The Giants record vs. Dallas & Philadelphia of late is just flat out embarrassing.

And weird. Granted, the Eagles and Cowboys have been the better teams during the past decade. But most of the time, both of those teams have been shaky in a very mediocre division. These "rivalries" should not be so one-sided. This isn't the 1993-1996 Dallas Cowboys.
I could not agree

With this preview any more than if I wrote this myself. This is a Jones game, he doesn't have to single handily win the game but he has to be a BIG part of the winning formula. He must make some plays down the field and has to keep the chains moving..

KT and AO returning is a huge plus even if just from a perception point of view. The threat of them rushing changes things and Wink can use that as a weapon when disguising who is rushing and who isn't.

What I really want to see is Barkley getting the ball in space some and take the pressure off the interior Oline.

Lastly, Toney is out. There is zero way they let him play with no practice as he clearly isn't trusted already. I really believe we saw him more last week only because Robinson was injured.

very interested to see the Golliday usage

this week vs Dallas. Was last week a wake up call?

Is it back to normal KG for 40 yards a game and zero TDS? or was it an indication that he will be riding the bench all year.

As long as Jones isn’t forcing him the ball, because I could see Diggs jumping routes and picking Jones off in that situation. Golladay is not winning many jump balls against Diggs IMO.
I also think the Giants are are better matchup for Dallas this year...
Simms11 : 9/24/2022 3:36 pm : link
the way Dallas is currently constructed. Philly, unfortunately, looks like the team to beat in the East and any win against them is going to be very very difficult this year!
Jones being on his 4th offensive coordinator and 3rd head coach

hurts, but is also due in part to his poor play. 1st round QBs who are playing well don't get their coaches canned.
Great

review.

I don't expect anything spectacular from Jones. Through the first two games he looks like a classic game manager. It's true he's been handicapped by a bad OL and subpar WRs, along with being on his third head coach and fourth OC since being drafted. But he's still not seeing a lot of wide open WRs. I won't believe Jones is anything more than a GM until he elevates the team and carries us to victory despite its offensive limitations.

I also don't think that Golladay being embarrassed by Daboll will inspire him to perform well. As with Jones, I need to see it first.

I'm not expecting much from KT or AO but anything they give will help OX and JW. We also need the backup DTs to play well to help stop the Dallas running attack. The good news as you note is that the Dallas OL isn't nearly as strong as it was.

It's a tough game to predict. I could see us being blown out or doing the same to Dallas.

The problem with this being Daniel Jones'
M.S. : 9/24/2022 5:48 pm : link

is the fact that he may not have one clean pocket the entire evening. As for the injury report, all I can say is it's a good thing we have such a deep receiving unit:

WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee – out)
WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring – doubtful)
This isn't the type of game review

that ANY Giants fan should take comfort in. And if this has got to be Daniel Jones "game," there's gonna be a lot of disappointed fans come midnight on Monday.

It’s a preview. Not a review. And what the hell are you even talking about? Why would “ANY” fan ever take comfort in a PREVIEW of a game anyways? And why is this one so much more alarming that no fan on the planet should be. comfortable now, after reading it?

It doesn’t need to be his “game,” but he needs to make smart decisions, protect the football, and move the chains on 3rd down. This doesn’t need to be a 300 yard 4 TD outing to be successful.
Much truth in your preview
G-crew18 : 9/24/2022 7:35 pm : link
Our run against the Cowboys has been lackluster at best but, that was the past a team run by the Accorsi tree. This year's team has no link to the past futility but instead demonstrated a disposition of unwavering character and drive. Dallas overcoming an OLine in transition means little to the challenge which awaits in East Rutherford. We hear a lot about Parsons being compared to our LT and how He will be present to witness the new phenom. I think he will witness a new phenom all right but he will be dressed in White with the number 5 on his jersey.

Dallas will be unprepared for the ingenuity of Wink's defensive concepts, having a QB with limited playing experience will cause him to falter in identifying pressure packages and coverage. On Offense Dallas has seen little of the passing concepts or the power behind the running game.

IMO the Giants are going to feast 28-10
Before the Season
Samiam : 9/24/2022 7:53 pm : link
If you had told me before the season that the Giants would be 2-1 after 3 games, I would have been happy with that. Now, if they lose a home game to the Dak less team, it’s would be very upsetting. I hate the f…ing Cowboys more than any other team in sports. But, a healthy Cowboy is clearly the better team in my opinion, this is winnable and 3-0;would be so nice.

To Eric’s point on Golloday, I agree. Daboll knows what he’s doing and if takes embarrassing Golloday to get him to play, that’s ok.
Always.....Thank you for the previews and insight!

I can't help to make note your last sentence: "This is a really big moment for Jones. The entire country will be watching."

It's a pressure moment for DJ, we'll know soon enough about his future. : )

Let's Go Giants!

i didnt have a great feel for either of the first 2 except close games
Eric on Li : 9/24/2022 11:36 pm : link
this week i think the nyg lay a beatdown on the cowboys. i think cooper rush is what his record is - which is a 6 year fringe NFL player. his surprising effectiveness in 2 career starts gives wink something he can use to justify his insane comment that rush is a starting QB, but if that were anywhere remotely the case another team would have claimed him and given him a shot 1 of the many times he was available.

no well coached team should lose to cooper rush at home and i dont think they will. tyler smith seems to have played decently so far but i think wink is going to give him the ekwonu treatment with a fresh group of rushers who aren't on tape yet. and if they can front run that will help make dallas 1 dimensional. leonard williams out is unfortunate but the positionless defense and the return of the edge guys should be able to offset that somewhat. ward was playing a lot of snaps and where that may have changed with the 2 edges back it probably continues at least until williams returns (along with some more snaps for jelly/djd). gallup is only a little over 9 months off an ACL tear and so far the cowboys have missed cooper.
The White Out and White Uniforms......
George from PA : 9/25/2022 5:18 am : link
Will have an affect in the game.

This becomes very difficult to differentiate between the crowd and the players.....do not be surprise if the QB does not see a defender with some passes.

No doubt, Jones will also miss wide open receivers 😁

Jones hasn't proven that he's the guy and odds are that he isn't. But look at Mac Jones this year; Patricia and Judge have completely screwed him up. NE is still a much more stable situation than NYG, but if they aren't careful they could ruin this kid.
Tell me how the Giants offensive line plays
M.S. : 9/25/2022 9:41 am : link

and I will tell you who wins the game Monday Night.

If they run block well, they will win. If they don't, they will lose.

As for pass blocking? It's not gonna be pretty for Daniel Jones. But they can overcome that with a good run game.

This resonated with me also but not just specifically for Jones...this whole team from coaches to players have been coming up small for years when the entire country is watching.

It's time to turn this around!

You mean Leo? Cowboys don't have Tyron Smith or their QB. I wouldn't be so concerned.

I suspect Wink will employ guys like Nick Williams and Jihad Ward in Leo's spot. DJ Davidson and Justin Ellis will rotate and add depth.

Be more curious if they use ILB or a Safety more like they went with last week.
