Justin Fields.

If I am a Bears fan, I am concerned. I don't see it with him.
Thanks For The Draft Picks

Bears.

We will get to see him

up close next week. Definitely off to a slow start to his career.

Should eat Fields alive.
Its really early
Jay on the Island : 9/25/2022 4:41 pm : link
but he looks very bad this season. He is supposed to show noticeable improvement this season but so far he's been awful.

and not a good enough runner to make up for bud brutal passing.
Have the Bears fans stopped crowing about this trade

Team that plays afraid to lose when in fact they have nothing to lose. But don’t want to dismiss him prematurely because that team isn’t good
Thank goodness
cosmicj : 9/25/2022 5:44 pm : link
Because if he was good and we had traded out of the spot where he was selected, it would mark 4 straight years of Gettleman blowing his 1st round QB selection.

I’m not sure the Bears won as much as the Texans lost
I don't see it either...
OBJ_AllDay : 9/25/2022 7:50 pm : link
and in other news, it would appear the Lions are a qb away from actually being a good team.

arcarsenal : 9/25/2022 8:14 pm : link
I don't see an NFL passer in Fields at all. I learned my lesson with Haskins (RIP)... I'm not going to buy an OSU QB until one of these guys actually pans out.
Yeah he looks bad
Jerry in_DC : 9/25/2022 8:27 pm : link
If hes not going to put up passing numbers then he has to take care of the ball. He does have good physical tools so maybe someone can find a player in there at some point. But it looks real bad now.
Just another athlete
Snablats : 9/25/2022 8:32 pm : link
trying to play QB

The only one able to do it at a high level is Lamar because he is an elite elite runner and Baltimore created a college-like offense for him

arcarsenal : 9/25/2022 8:37 pm : link
Lamar is a much, much better passer than anything Fields has shown to date.

This is Lamar's 5th year in the league and he has had much better receivers

still early and he has little talent, but it's not looking good for Fields right now. A lot of teams passed on him, including Denver.

Lamar threw 36 TD passes and was the NFL MVP in his 2nd season. Please stop comparing these two.

Little talent around him.
Fields has such accuracy problems
ChicagoMarty : 9/25/2022 9:26 pm : link
as a passer, I think if I were Wink I would go with a very conservative Graham like D.

Just emphasize Contain and let Fields throw it away or to one of our guys.

No need to blitz him. Let him throw it. Just keep him in the pocket and sooner or later he will turn it over.
He's no Daniel Jones

Every QB out of Ohio State has been a bust in NFL.
Giant John : 9/25/2022 9:50 pm : link
If I was a prospect in HS I would not speak to a Ohio State recruiter. They just don’t make it in NFL. I brought this up when Fields was coming up. Look it up.

all trends get broken... penn state runningbacks drafted in round 1 sucked until saquon

Ohio State recruited Joe Burrow
I really like Fields...
bw in dc : 9/25/2022 11:06 pm : link
and think it's too early to write his obituary. Unfortunately for him, the Bears are a bad organization right now (ownership to management to talent), and he needs an offensive minded HC.

Lamar threw 36 TD passes and was the NFL MVP in his 2nd season. Please stop comparing these two.

And Baltimore created a college offense with really good receivers just for him. And he has had much better coaching

I have never liked Fields or the QBs like him - running backs trying to play QB. The only reason Lamar has had success is what I said - they created an offense for him and he has had better receivers and coaching. Yes he is a better passer, but not good enough to win without his legs doing most of the work
That is not the only reason, lol
UConn4523 : 9/26/2022 12:09 am : link
Lamar Jackson can run circles around fields, literally. He’s also a better thrower. There isn’t anything that fields does better or even remotely close and that’s not all due to the system and coaching. 1 is an incredibly gifted athlete that hasn’t been seen in the league before and the other is an above average athlete playing in a league of above average athletes. It just isn’t close.

Banks : 9/26/2022 12:22 am : link
out of all the recent QBs at OSU I thought he was by far the best prospect for the NFL. This is why I'm not a GM. The bears have talent issues around him, but he looks exceptionally poor thus far.
I never said Fields was even or better than Jackson
Snablats : 9/26/2022 12:30 am : link
Ive never liked Fields, but Jackson has had benefits that Fields hasnt had. Look at today - Jackson 18/29 218 yards. but he ran for over 100. The threat of him running, and the college offense built around him, give him a huge advantage

If Jones puts up those passing numbers everyone screams game manager because he cant run like Lamar

Lamar has had good coaching and really good receivers, and his running ability creates passing opportunities that Fields and his type of QB dont have

Jackson's running ability and the offensive system created for him are what set him apart from the other "athlete" QBs

You are very much down playing
UConn4523 : 9/26/2022 12:34 am : link
Jackson’s ability. You arguments were the same as mine 2+ years ago but he’s beyond that now.
Kent Graham
butler : 9/26/2022 12:57 am : link
was probably one of the better OSU quarterbacks in the NFL. That's pretty sad. Even if he did "shock the world."
Well, after the Bears traded a boatload of picks for Trubisky
sb from NYT Forum : 9/26/2022 1:36 am : link
...they surely wouldn't make the same mistake only 3 years later to trade up for Fields, right? ... right?

Every trend gets broken. Yes that’s probably correct
Giant John : 9/26/2022 5:58 am : link
But this one’s been hanging on since when? Yes Burrows did go to Ohio but was smart enough to leave. Can you imagine Haskins over Borrows? The position is cursed at Ohio State.
In reference to future Giants opponents
Costy16 : 9/26/2022 8:01 am : link
The Jaguars and Lions are going to be very competitive games. Lions despite losing two close games are a good team right now and the Jags are off to a good start. Peterson I think will be a big boost to the development of Lawrence.
Trevor Lawrence has had 2 excellent outings the last 2 games
cosmicj : 9/26/2022 8:51 am : link
He may be emerging as a star.

Jackson doesn’t get called a game manager because he account for 5 touchdowns…
He stinks
Greg from LI : 9/26/2022 10:06 am : link
Not that I've watched him play that much, but when I have I don't even see flashes of ability. Looks like a total bust.
