would say it's likely never. He's only on the team because he took a big pay cut and our WR corps is so poor. Like many others here, I wonder if he's lost some of his speed.
step onto the field. He's literally a 6th option. For some reason this board has a fascination with bottom of the roster guys that don't even get picked up by teams after the Giants cut bait.
32 teams passed on him 5 times including the Giants. He was a feel good story whose career is virtually over
And if he is not, why is he on the team? I mean he doesn't play specials, the team is desperate for receivers and he can't get on the field.
What is Schoen doing regarding receivers? We have three that contribute nothing Slayton, toney, golladay. There have to be better players out there on practice squads.
I don't understand. Cut/trade Slayton. IR Toney. Make Golladay inactive and let someone else play who can contribute in some way.

The reason he hasn't been cut is because you need bodies in case people get hurt, you need more than 3 wide receivers on your roster and anyone on the PS is just another JAG and the Giants don't have enough salary cap room to sign anyone better. And obviously he isn't better than Golladay, or he would be playing over him and Sills. But obviously he's not
Hard to believe there is no one with more potential upside
You can’t just take some guy off the street or practice squad and throw them in as starter. These guys need to know schemes, route patterns, have familiarity with the QB, and how to line up correctly.
A wr running a wrong route can result just as much as turnover as a incompletion. Also for those of you thinking or saying …”isn’t there anyone else?”
Look at the depth chart …there isn’t.
Sign OBJ.

On someone's practice squad than these three warm bodies.
Confusing post. You say there is a learning curve for someone off the street then you recommend they sign someone off the street (and that player is injured).
Also, practice squad players can ya know...practice, so learning curve issues are not present.

My reply was meant for the "guys, this isn't Madden" comment.
In 2019 and 2020 he averaged about 50 receptions and 750 yards.
His QB was Daniel Jones
He isn’t a savior but he was a proved NFL receiver
I don’t understand why he went from serviceable NFL WR to unplayable?
I trust this staff - but the inability to get any production from multiple WRs is odd.
He has the chance to earn millions of dollars in a future contract and he’s totally blowing it. You really have to wonder if he is injured or is having off the field troubles.

There absolutely is a learning curve
Do I really have to explain the difference between a off the street FA or practice squad player and a established veteran WR who has a Súper bowl ring?
It appears clear the unit is having issues picking up the new scheme
maybe he can offer that and make a few plays. It's a talent league and it shows up more on the perimeter spots. Giants are lacking here.
Best hope is to have a strong running game (opens PA) that defenses have to account for. This will help the WR's imv. Getting into long 2nd/3rd plays into all the Giants weaknesses right now.
That's 2 a game in a nightmare offense. He has zero so far this year. I don't think the OP is unreasonable in saying "now or never" for Slatyon with 2 guys out and another in the proverbial dog house. Some of you guys are weird.

Slayton game is best with go routes about 15 - 20 yards from the line of scrimmage. I don't think the Giants current scheme is set up to take advantage of Slayton skillset. If the Giants were throwing the ball down field more then that would benefit him but that is not happening. So I see a modest season for him at best.

This is a good thing, it means playing are earning their spot and playing time, and there are no scholarships.
Altho it has not motivated KG yet, for example, handing out free rides is a bad idea.
OBJ is not an answer either ...
