Although I love Manningcast, I’ve missed Buck & Aikman calling NYG games. It always meant a big game and it’s been few and far between the last few years.
What little I've seen of the Manningcast, they weren't showing the game some of the time or they were taking up a quarter of the screen. That's fine for a non Giant game, but I don't want to miss any action or be distracted for a Giants game.
I'm dvr-ing both tonight and might re-watch the game (if Giants win) with the Mannings.
But I don't really like the Manningcast, particularly if I want to focus on the game itself. The banter, commentary and guests are great for the most part but it often doesn't synch well with gameplay. For example, a guest may be in the middle of explaining something and it will get interrupted by a big play in the game, which is sort of in the background but the Manningcast suddenly has to jump to it. That doesn't happen during a traditional broadcast.
The Manningcast is great in situations like the end of game field goal in the Denver - Seattle game, where there is a period of non-play in a close game and Peyton and Eli can give their insights but play to play, I find it hard to follow the game.
bring it on. NBC tried it once in the 90's and it flopped but that was before big-screen TVs which allows for a lot more on-screen graphics and scroll at bottom. Muting you lose the crowd noise and referee call and it just seems weird sitting in front of a screen with no sound coming out.
Or Mute?
Airman has already said ‘it’s amazing’ how far the Giants have fallen.
That's as close to a factual statement as you can make. Don't they have one of the bottom-3 records in the league over the last 5 years? Why do people get upset at statements like this?
As for the actual thread subject, I will be listening to Buck & Aikman. I watch Manningcast every other week, but not for a Giants game.

Anyone else have a similar experience?
Agree on what you said. The purpose of the Manningcast is for football fans that really don't care too much about that game. The fans of the team's playing will tune in no matter what. The Manningcast is a great way to pull in the rest of the football market that won't pay attention to 3 hours of a game they don't really care about.
Yup. Over the years, I have routinely turned off the sound on games. Announcers get on my nerves, off it goes. Sometimes before the the start of the game. Especially some of the college games.
Manningcast for me, though. If they are not doing the MNF game, it gets muted. No problem with their banter, I enjoy it and it's no different than watching the game with family or friends. We don't sit there in utter silence in order to hear the announcers.
I'm weird with the Manningcast/Kayrod stuff. Even though I really do not like Buck/Aikman, the games almost don't feel real through the other telecasts. Something about the loose commentary and casual talking while the game is going on just feels disjointed. I can't really explain it.
Won't have a choice which one I hear tonight where I'm going, but hopefully they're just using the regular audio.
I can't stand watching Aikman/Buck do Cowboys games
Although manningcast is great
I feel the same.
Plus, for me, the Manningcast usually takes a dive during the guest segments.
Sadly, Buck/Aikman.
Really fun watching the Mannings, just not during a Giants game.

Aikman is an absolute joy doing a Cowboys' game compared to Romo. *grin*
How-wad Co-sell at his worst was a lot more listenable and infinitely more entertaining than Buck the Baffoon.
Are there actually people that do this?

Hasn't the Giant's last decade been pretty darn crappy?
I’ll likely record both and go back and list to Eli & Peyton if we win 😳

Me. I don't need sound to watch a football game.

I get not needing the announcing, but no crowd noise or penalty calls? I can't picture watching a game with literally no sound.
But for a game like tonight I want traditional coverage.

On CBS' Monday Night football. He was a pure, classy gentleman. His baritone voice was a treat to hear.
His son, on the other hand is an annoying, chatter-box buffoon. He doesn't give a rat's ass about the game, just his hyperbolic "takes".

This. If he was Joe Smith he’s he’ll me be announcing bingo somewhere

This. They go off what’s happening in the game and chew up too much of the screen for games I care about.
