Watching games through the first 2 weeks, it is amazing how there are not more good QBs. The rules keep changing in favor of the offense and you can't breathe on the QBs anymore.
The transition from college should be easier with the way the rules are, but there are so many failures. For there to be almost no major QBs in an entire draft like last year is surprising.
Why aren't there more good QBs being developed.
Have Defenses caught up to what offenses are doing? Is the real answer that oline play is so bad across the league and dline play and edge play has outplayed online play?
It would be interesting to compare on average how much time QBs have to throw now verse other years.
Even when I look at a great promising QB like Burrow, he has to work magic on almost every play with his oline play. Herbert did not look as great when Slater went out. I think Dak looked a lot better when he had an elite line. I think we are seeing something similar with the Eagles.
The best QBs right now have the ability to get away from pressure because they need to be able to survive and through the ball. Tom Brady is an abnormal in many ways, but we saw how he responds when dline gets the best of his oline.
are not doing well.Seems like the young players on defense, are doing really well for themselves..Is that a trend? I don't know..If so,the NFL will change the rules again to favor the offense..
He's certainly dealing with more stress away from the field.
Absolute idiot if you asked me (but yeah, I guess no one is).
Allen and LJax have been spectacular, but that's to be expected.
After them, it's slim pickings and down to, incredibly, Hurts, Tua and even Lawrence.
Strange, strange, strange.
QB's need some form of solid PB/OL with upper tier skills OR very strong running game with solid skill players.
It gets really hard without either imv.

I was really into pursuing Pederson. I believe he's underrated - too many people give too much credit to Reich for the Philly SB run - and he may be the best thing that ever happened to Lawrence and the Jags.
But back to Lawrence. He's completing 70% of his passes, had a 6:1 TD/INT ratio, has a 70+ QBR and a 7 YPA.
Pretty damn solid.
Teams don't take shape and find their groove right away.
and there you go

Regardless, I agree. QB play has not been good overall through WK3.

Allen blew that game with some awful throws.
I don't know.
It was close the entire game, yet Dorsey had Allen throw 63X in jungle conditions. I think he just got worn out.

Exactly!
& listen, I could be proven 100% wrong in the coming weeks & months. But I've seen a lot of the Bucs these first 3 games & he doesn't look like the 2021 TB12. For some of these dudes...when it is over, it is over like that.

I haven't seen Lawrence, but from all accounts...Pederson has been a boon for his career. I think we play them next month so I guess we'll see then.

And I'm glad the Giants passed on that asshole. What he does with other teams is five I'm just glad we didn't lower ourselves to him.
Hopefully we have our guy for the next 15+ years. Looking good so far though granted way too early.

I think it's way too early for that. The Dallas defense was brutal to Cinci and I thought he did pretty well. Other years vs the Saints he has mightily struggled regardless of the which year the past few.
And this past week he had crummy receivers going against a pretty good defense.
Godwin in particular is such a key target for Brady, so when he and Evans are back on the field together it's going to be a lot better for TB12.
Qb play is fine. The lack of camp and practice time is showing. Most teams run the same boring short pass offense. Defenses blitz like crazy and the o lines haven’t practiced enough to coordinate the protection.
This is like preseason. Give it a few more weeks and the offenses will solidify.
