Got the snot beat out of him and still made plays with zero WR help. The WR corp is a joke. Even Aikman, a known Dallas homer and Giant hater was won over by Jones while broadcasting the game.
Made some questionable throws but this Dallas D is terrifying. DJ's runs were good. Overall I would say he played tough - not sure I would say he played great.
That is not saying much, of course, but he played a heck of a game...
I hate to bring up this excuse for the 4th year in a row but how the hell can you expect to evaluate a QB when the Oline has 4 turnstiles and the receivers cannot get a lick of separation.
Shepard looks to have a serious injury and he was the only guy in uniform tonight that resembles a starting NFL receiver (and even that is debatable). Something needs to be done because they cannot possibly expect to be competitive offensively with this current crew of receivers they are running out there.
I did think he played well though given the circumstances
But he is absolutely not part of the solution. The question with Jones is how do you rank the urgency of replacing him when there are so many players who need to be replaced?
Jones is not the Giants biggest problem, just one of them.
I guarantee you there's an NFL coach or GM watching the game tonight
who sees the talent Jones has, and what he could be if he wasn't running for his life on every passing down.
The biggest question is whether spending four years under near constant pressure has mindfucked him past the point where he can be salvaged on another team next year.
Jones does not play defense, he does not play any oline position,
or WR, the Jones haters will never see anything but a loss. The cowturds came after him and there was nothing the oline could to stop them, Jones play well all things considered.

I was really disappointed in the line tonight. That was a horrible showing. Dallas D is really really good but even with TE help the o-line was just getting completely lit up.
Hard to evaluate. He turned lemons into limes. Took what was there and surprised me with a few things.
We don't have the line to throw the ball effectively. And now without Shep, we don't have anything at WR. Might as well have Breida line up wide at this point. Neal is a liability at this point in pass protection. Golladay... Why even suit up?
mostly more of the same, could not do enough when it mattered most. No TDs, 5 ypa, couldn't get in the red zone let alone score points. They should have fed SB to try and establish some balance, but the OL and receivers had a rough night. Ugly. A performance that really highlights they need more talent including QB.

is a huge stretch. For him he played a very good game.
He was fine. He had little to no help, but he still didn't play a "very good" game. Our standards for very good QB play are total shit around here after the last 5 years
He took too many sacks coming from his right side. He needs to either step into the pocket and make a throw to a receiver or out of bounds. I’ve been hoping Jones turned the corner, but he’s not a guy that you win with at this level consistently. Time to move on in the offseason.
He did not. This was his big chance. Way, way too small. Not good enough. Just a guy. What happens matters. If he could threaten the defense, Barkley would have lanes.
He was neutral. Several nice runs, a few nice passes.
This is the worst case scenario: the Giants still can’t get a read.
They absolutely can get a read. There's plenty enough evidence on Jones to realize he's not the guy. If this group of Daboll, Schoen and Kafka can't see it then they can take a fucking hike too. But I'm sure they can. Jones does not have it. Tonight was not his fault, but its abundantly clear he is not the answer at QB.
You're never going to score a lot of points with Jones as your QB. But given his limitations he did well. He even made a handful of off script plays and had a few non robotic moments. And no major mistakes even under a lot of pressure
He needs to run like he did tonight. That's when he's at his best.
To me, this was easily his best game of the year and one of his better games of his career.
He was neutral. Several nice runs, a few nice passes.
This is the worst case scenario: the Giants still can’t get a read.
It doesn’t matter at this point honestly, the read is immaterial. The situation is hourglass and time is coming up. The roster needs so much infusion still they’re going to punt forward with a new QB, cap reset in next couple years, and it might be best for all parties including Jones to get a refresh year elsewhere.
He played about as well as he could under the circumstances
I still don’t think he’s particularly good but everyone else on offense other than Barkley and maybe Thomas did absolutely nothing tonight. OL was a sieve. The TEs who were supposed to be giving the OTs help failed miserably. WRs don’t get open much and drop the ball when they do get open.

How do you threaten the defense if you’re constantly pressured, your receivers can’t get open, and when you get the ball to them they drop it?
Fuck you jackass
He played well considering how many times he been hit and chased tonight.
You should go follow the Cowboys jackass
That is not saying much, of course, but he played a heck of a game...

Pray tell, what did you see during the 25 pressures....most ever in his career...that you would have done better?

Agreed
Almost NOBODY, all night, came back to help him, not even the HOT receivers. They just ran their routes, ineffectively.
Dallas is far more talented than the Giants.

I feel bad for him a bit because he’s a good kid who has never complained and is looking a bit like David Carr part Deux.
Unless he balls out rest of year, I just don’t see where he’s back here next year though.
He was neutral. Several nice runs, a few nice passes.

What happened to the thread you deleted…catching too much shit?
Even though you missed the game, you can catch the highlights.

Yeah I think they will move on.

Definitely a bright spot in an otherwise horrid game that exposed this team for its huge lack of talent
