I really like Daboll

I know, I liked Judge too. But, I was so impressed with his post game press conference. His demeanor feels perfect to me and I get the sense he’s authentic. He’s playing the guys he feels gives the team the best chance to win.

The team does not have the horses yet, but I think *maybe* the Giants finally found their head coach for awhile.
Yeah he's going to be a good coach for us

Doesn't necessarily mean that we'll win big, but he's going to be good at the job
I have no problem with the coaching of this team.

The turd was gleaming until that 4th and 4 last night. After that, it was what it was.
On that 3rd and 1 jet sweep to Breida

I was like thank god, isn't it nice to have some intelligent coaches getting easy conversions.
Coaching isn't the issue with this team

It's the severe lack of talent at certain key positions. And I don't blame Schoen for that. He was pressed against the cap and inherited a roster with more holes than Swiss cheese. I blame Gettleman.

Yeah, but where did we get better. I know where we got worse. Where did we get better?
There's actually a number of places

Where the Giants got better. They got better in the back half of the roster for sure. Guys like Richie James, who for some reason gets criticism here, but shows up and is a professional and just does his job at a good level.

We got better in run-blocking significantly. Particularly at RT, TE, and OG. And I get everyone wants to shit on Neal after tonight, but he's actually better at run-blocking AND pass-blocking (overall on the season) than we've had in the last 2 seasons minimum.

The play-calling and playbook itself is better.

Julian Love has stepped it up.

The run defense is playing mostly better. I get it didn't look good in this game, but we held McCaffrey and Henry in check the first two weeks. Further, Jihad Ward has been a relentless run-defender.

Ximines is playing better. Jones has already shown improvement in the new offense.

There's a number of areas and players you can point to that have shown improvement from last year to this year.

That doesn't mean there isn't a long way to go but this team is 2-1 and the Giants finished last season as a complete and total dumpster fire almost in every phase of the game except for kicker.
Neal is an obvious upgrade over Solder

Some of the players on last year's team, bad as it was, are noticably improved. And both offense and defense are clearly better coached. Philosophically, they appear to understand (especially on the defensive side of the ball), that what they lack in talent, they can make up for with effort and intensity. Which is how underdogs typically win (when they do, in fact, win).

Doesn't have the horses...

Talk about an understatement.

It was last night. That was a bungled job by both OC and DC and STs. The time management was terrible. Team looked disorganized.

One game, they will learn. I have no doubt they will self analyze.
