Giants WR Sterling Shepard suffered a serious left knee injury, according to multiple sources. Final diagnosis comes Tuesday but season is likely over.
"It's tough. I'm not even going to lie. It's hard not to get choked up about it," Darius Slayton said of seeing the injury.
As a Giant.
The players get this far... Injuries take many on the way here. Yet some make it. Genetics, hard work, and luck. Finally, get here and all of a sudden everything that ensured your healthy rise to this level is gone!
I hope they can keep their mental balance to get through and even thrive.
I know I'd be a wreck!
The back of his calf & heal, after he went down - (His off-season repaired Achilles ?)
Previously, Aikman marveled at how well Shep was playing, coming back from injury.

He very clearly grabbed his knee.
It was just replaced.
And it did not look like the foot grabbed either. He merely put his foot down at not even a jog speed. Rather weird. I wonder if he had damaged or weakened it before and it just let loose.
He played his heart out for this team.... regardless of his talent level. He was "all in as a Giant"
Can't say that about Golliday and Toney....
But at the end of this season (career?), in 7 seasons as a Giant, dude will have missed 39 games. Only playing 16 games in his 1st and 3rd season.
He just couldn't stay on the field.

Very very very strange to rip Toney on a thread about another WR that can't stay on the field.
When has Toney been on the field healthy and not playing with everything he has?
I'm really starting to think the way he talks and looks has more to do with why Giants fans hate Toney than anything else... and its pretty disgusting
Old or new, turf is garbage.

I think your the one who sees it that way, right from the start. The guy never plays, has bs follow him around a lot (practice, don't practice, issues with shoes, sick, sick again, injured, etc...).. He has so much stuff around him for a guy who has produced next to nothing so far.

That is an absurd conclusion. Giants fans have plenty of reasons to be down on Toney that have nothing to do how he looks. He misses games constantly with very minor injuries and then can't get on the field when he is healthy because the coaching staff doesn't trust him.
He was a first round draft pick on a unit with little talent. He is underperforming every reasonable expectation the fans of him.
I think the saddest part of that is he got hurt on a "non play" for him. I mean, he wasn't even remotely involved and boom, down he goes.
How was it meaningless? We were down by 7 trying to tie the game
I think everyone is gone.
As a Giant.
Very likely although I was convinced of that when he went down in last years Cowboy game as well.

Give me a break. Toney has had one good game, and even in that one, got thrown out. Yet some posters make him out to be the 2nd coming of Randy Moss.
He's not in Shep's class. Sure, Shep has had more than his fair share of injuries, but at least those injuries were on the field trying to help the Giants win. When Toney can even see the field, then maybe I'll give him some credit.

Let me know when Shepard misses practice time because his shoes don't fit.
I thought the same. Was really weird because he was just jogging straight ahead. Didn't look like he blew out his ligaments from what I saw.
