Tae Crowder

Crowder could be worse than last season, but’s he’s proven me wrong.

Stinks bad, like tuna salad left out in the sun. They've got to do better than him. I'd rather give McFadden a long look, rookie warts and all, than waste any more time on Crowder.

Can't wait until he's no longer a Giant.

He’s not aggressive at all and it’s a very poor trait for an ILB. He can’t tackle and is easily blocked. I don’t know what they see in him other then no other alternatives. Maybe they can get Jaylon Smith some snaps this week. He’s got to learn the D first. He was know pen to be too much of a free-lancer, but maybe Wink can straighten that out?!

i assume they had their reasons to dump martinez but not sure he could have been worse (or smith, or mcfadden, or even coughlin).

most bizarre is that they had crowder on the field in situations that made no sense like the end of the 1st half play that got the cowboys into FG range, he was split out covering a receiver (i think it was the guy who caught the ball too).

I think MLB is the most underrated position in football, and the Giants haven't had a good one with any staying power since Pierce was here.

To be fair, Martinez is still unsigned.

When they believe it will make a positive difference, the change will be made.

Next year the Giants will have some real $ to play with and there are some holes on this team at relatively inexpensive positions that they can fill with above average guys that will make the team a whole hell of a lot better. Think ILB, LG, etc. Carl banks said it last night and we can all agree Carl knows a bit about LB play. "Crowder's ceiling is not very high and if he jumps, he just may be able to touch it" He'd be a decent depth piece and ST guy, but he just isn't close to being a starter!

So if they believe they have an upgrade over Crowder, I’m sure they will insert such player.

Yep, and McFadden was the guy that should have had him 1st, but at least he slowed Zeke for Crowder to finish. Bad job by both in reality.

And what do the Giants, particularly Martindale since he's the DC, want from their ILBs?

I personally want someone who can fill holes in the run game, tackle well, drop into a zone against tight ends and running backs and not look like a fool, and occasionally blitz.

On the other hand, if Martindale says that Crowder is everything he wants in a MIKE linebacker, why does he look like a liability a good percentage of the time?

On that 3rd and 1, all I kept thinking about was how he was trying to replicate the hit on Derrick Henry. Really pissed me off

But, on Elliott's TD, he needed to wrap him up. Even if he can't make the tackle solo, try to corral him for someone else to. You don't just throw your shoulder at a RB like that. It doesn't get the job done.

Beavers is a big loss. But, combining that with cutting Martinez, really killed us. At this point, I would try anyone else, including some crazy formations with more DBs. I just don't want Crowder on the field. But, I've been saying that a long time.

Wink wants speed at his ILB's, he started Patrick Queen in Baltimore and he was on the smallish side..

Crowder didn't have a single defender here. Everyone knows he's not a plus player, everyone knew we were likely stuck for a year. Strange "told ya so!" flex.

The info I have is what is out there. Claiming Nothing inside on this. —- he was recovered from the surgery and that was not an issue. The salary was already cleaned up and dumping him at that point saved no money. There was not a personality conflict with the staff. He wasn’t blocking PT for a younger draft pick. T here was rumors that he asked to be released but I don’t know if that is true

If those things are true you don’t think he is better then crowder or calistro (sp?). At least the guy could get to the ball and tackle. I get that he is not signed by another. Makes me wonder if he was healthy.

So… they let him go for nothing, he’s better then what we got(imo) def seems like a blunder based on what I know. Dig?

Whats he gonna do? He's gotta put someone out there and Crowder is currently best for the job. But I don't think anyone here thinks he's part of the rebuild or will develop into some kind of leader.

Wink has said that Crowder is his idea of what an ILB should be like; either he's lying or he has no idea of what a ILB should be.

If he's healthy, he's sitting right there for every NFL team to sign and none of them are, including the Giants.

His idea is speed and coverage ability and ability to fill holes on blitzes, he thought Crowder can do that
