All off season we heard about how this offense will use Barkley more as a receiver to utilize his skills as a pass catcher. The guy has great hands and Jones was throwing darts last night to him on screens. I'm not seeing the creative match up nightmares I think we were promised. Now last night there was no way to keep up with that pass rush, granted. 10 guys couldn't stop them. But in general the offense while better still seems a little vanilla. Am I wrong? Or is that our players just aren't that good.
Just my theory, could be wrong.
I might say the offense has been way outperforming its talent level.
It's kind of interesting that a slot receiver and a running back are your top 2 receivers. There must have been blanket coverage on the other guys.
With Sheppard out and Toney very unreliable they will need to get very creative and adjust from their system imv.

I'm not factoring in screens. I'm talking wheel routes, quick slantsand even a go route on a lb.
What were they doing to do that?
I was actually really surprised that Jones threw him an endzone fade in the game against the Titans. There was no way Barkley was catching that ball, even if it was placed better.
