The remaining injury issue to still be concerned with is Marte's. Rumors were that he'd be back for the Braves series, but IMHO I don't see it in the cards. Be that as it may, the Mets are fully capable and SHOULD win these next two games at home vs. the Marlins before another off-day on Thursday. There's no Alcantara this series, so no reason not to take both of these critical games. Here are the starting pitcher matchups for them both:

Let's go Nats again today (obviously another story next week). Here are some other articles to check out before gametime:

Also, who is the new guy doing the play-by-play?
...And the Marlins score. Carrasco having 1st inning problems again?
Buck better have a VERY short leash with him tonight...
Good lord, this team makes it so hard on itself...
Buck better have a VERY short leash with him tonight...
+1. I feel the same way. Maybe my expectations of a major league pitcher are too highly unrealistic, but it's disappointing for him to give up two runs immediately.
Nice handle!
PULL HIM, BUCK!!
Have some fucking urgency, Buck!
Have some fucking urgency, Buck!
Urgency isn't in Buck's vocabulary.
Now tied, 2-2, top 4th.
What is MaGill's situation anyway? I had high hopes for him but, he is just bullpen now and will be in the playoffs?
If they don't win the division, that 18 of 40 number will be the reason why
Blame KDavies…
It really does seem like the Mets play down to their competition, which actually gives me more hope for their chances in the playoffs.
remember when they had the streaks of high pitch counts for opposing pitchers in the first innings? now it's the opposite. lopez tonight on 36 pitches after 3. they've had some big blow ups and a lot more nights light tonight.
marte out is part of it but canha sees more pitches than anyone and has best obp on the team so not sure why they haven't been able to recreate that in the top 5 like they did earlier this year. especially since vogelbach sees a lot of pitches and escobar got hot.
Still control our own destiny
Pete Alonso has 5 home runs and 16 RBIs in his last seven games.
