Starting lineups for today - 9/27/22 - Marlins at Mets

The remaining injury issue to still be concerned with is Marte's. Rumors were that he'd be back for the Braves series, but IMHO I don't see it in the cards. Be that as it may, the Mets are fully capable and SHOULD win these next two games at home vs. the Marlins before another off-day on Thursday. There's no Alcantara this series, so no reason not to take both of these critical games. Here are the starting pitcher matchups for them both:

Here are the Starting pitchers in the Braves @ Nationals matchup going on at just about the same time as the Mets-Marlins game in Queens in about two hours:
Let's go Nats again today (obviously another story next week). Here are some other articles to check out before gametime:

at this point im less worried about them showing up for the braves series (i think they will) than I am that they will be able to keep pace with whatever atlanta does tonight and after that series since the braves don't seem to have this issue against bad teams. they pull these games out.
Change my mind.
Still 2-1, top 7th.

Say goodbye to 1st place. Hello wildcard.
Hello Limitations.
is there any argument to giving Ruf at bats over him or guillorme or taking guillorme's glove out of a game?

Hope so - Ruf just cannot have another bat in these next 7 games. Or the playoffs, for that matter...

Sorry, it was in Magnum Force.
If this Mets teamhas any character, now ir the time for it to show itself
1st and 2nd, no outs. 8th inning, and 1st place at stake.

Since like April 11th, or something like that?

Bases loaded, 1 out, 8th inning, behind by 2 runs, 1st place hangs in the balance.
If not now, then when?
Nothing.

_1. Totally agree Eric.
Taking their opponents lightly and not working their game plans.

To get a win over a team that is 36 games under .500? Afetr getting swept by Chicago 2 weeks ago, how does this happen again?
Taking their opponents lightly and not working their game plans.
Pennant race pressure that they haven't felt before
I would seriously consider pitching Diaz in the 10th

+1. Totally agree Spike. They've started swinging too early and freely in the count, not taking enough pitches, not making pitchers work hard enough.

With you all the way on this one. Does anyone think Smith will get the job done here? And two big chokes by Pete and Lindor
