Barkley leads the league in yds over expected (per Nextgen)

PatersonPlank : 9/27/2022 5:46 pm
Didn't see this posted but I found it interesting. I'll delete if its somewhere already.

NextGen Stats:

Against 8 defenders in the box, Barkley gained +31 rushing yards over expected on his 36-yd TD run. Barkley currently leads the NFL in rushing yards over expected this season (+114), surpassing Nick Chubb (+104).

They also analyze his 36 yds TD run (attached)

Yeah, great, I would rather he be leading the league in TD run's!

Someone get this guy on the sidelines. I found our next running backs coach.
Pretty sure in 2018

Over 50% of his yards came after contact and he led the league in broken tackles yet somehow, he wasn’t having a good impact, lol.

He seems to be back in 2018 form, we just need the health.

Crossing fingers he remains in one piece.
Barkley was fantastic player in 18

I don’t even think he is back to that level (he may never be) yet which is incredible.

The amount of times he has been referred to as a ‘losing player’ on here has always bothered me.
Almost as if he was touched by -

I think he is a better runner now, than in 08.

Probably. He was 11.

LOL. 18
What is this stat? Who determines it and using what metrics?
Matt M. : 9/28/2022 10:19 am : link
It seems rather arbitrary and subjective, even if based on actual data analysis.

(tongue in cheek) I mean my expectation is that he takes it to the house every time he touches the ball the way he is running. So, does that make his production a disappointment?
it's not surprising that his TD run
Osi Osi Osi OyOyOy : 9/28/2022 1:07 pm : link
graded out so incredibly highly. That cut he made in the hole on those 2 Cowboys is the type of explosive move that really only him and a handful of others in the league can make. I completely buy the +31 yards over expectation on that run, most RBs wouldn't have a chance to avoid those two defenders.

There were 2-3 other huge potential gains that Barkley just missed on.
