both in the game. IIRC, Barkley was flanked out, but came back to the backfield on a 3rd and one. DJ faked the ball to Barkley, handed off to Breida who had a 14 yard gain, and a shoe string stopped him from taking it all the way - was it against Tenn or Carolina?
I think that Barkley flanked out more often is a good thought.
Not a crazy idea but not something you want to see for many plays
who can actually make defenses respect them, who do we think is getting double and triple coverage? I think ya gotta try it, but I’m not overly optimistic. Good challenge for Daboll/Kafka though.
He's averaging over 100 yds per game rushing with some big runs. Why not set Brieda out wide? He is a good pass catcher, and would likely get a Linebacker on him where Barkley would definitely get a DB
Except I would have Brightwell instead of Breida, because the other reason to move Barkley is because he still sucks at blocking and we need to give DJ as much help with the rush as possible.
If Toney can ever get his act togeher this would be a great idea.
True - he is more of a threat to do anything from the backfield. Breida or Brightwell either in the backfield with him or splitting is likely more confusing.
with or without Breida in the game. Normally, I'm not crazy about empty bf set, as it screams pass to the defense, but Jones is a weapon with his feet, so that helps mitigate that concern a bit.
It will be interesting to see what changes in personnel packages and play calling they make with Shep out.

It's definitely a way to get the most talent on the field at the same time.
Especially the halfback option pass
Force the opposition to risk missed tackle on either boundary.
