Cole vs. White
Try not to throw too many meatballs tonight Gerrit.
His K-Curve is also just a better secondary pitch. He should flip its usage with his slider.
You can't live with the FB vs Toronto. They have too many first ball fastball guys. His slider was electric for 5 innings then was awful in the 6th. As been said here he's no ace any more. In the playoffs Boone has to recognize that and treat him like all the other guys with his quick hooks in the 5th and 6th innings.

98-100 mph you do not need to fuck around with sliders

The best pitch in baseball is the high fastball.
Hope Yanks pony up for him this offseason.
What a day!
Well Jays bullpen.
Maris Jr. clearly not thrilled. I get that.
Judge's mom is over the moon.

Hard I am sure, but I am sure he is happy it was a Yankee.

For Maris it has to be bittersweet...but I would bet my house that he's thrilled for Aaron and his family. Rog Jr is a class act.
Oh well, maybe next year.
(and those two guys just missed catching that ball, I wonder how much $$ that ball would have gone for?)
The next one sets the new HR mark in the AL. Very happy that he can claim that record without having to wade into the Bonds/Sosa/McGwire discussion.
Not Wesneski coming in next.
He has to pitch every third day.
Rest tomorrow and do it at home.
I don't understand why Boone turns to him in critical late innings.

again....1-2 count on Springer and the poor sliders to walk him.

Not sure if you’ve paid attention, but these aren’t exactly “critical late innings”. This game means less than nothing in the standings for the Yanks. The goal is to get Schmidt right.
Yes....
More embarrassing than the hicks gaffe earlier in the game
The Blue Jays are incredibly talented offensively but they are an absolute dumpster fire when it comes to doing the other things. They are mentally weak.

Hahaha. Cimber misfires to home and then totally forgets to go cover the bag. Gave us 2 free runs.

They are, and it's been a problem spanning more than just this year. Even when Montoyo was there, they had all sorts of clusterfuck issues running the bases.
They can slug with anyone in baseball but they don't do the little things and that's why they aren't a championship team.
Hopefully that's something he can build off.
But right now, I wouldn't be surprised to see anyone from Loaisiga to Effross to Peralta (when he's back), etc. in 9th innings.
We have a bit of a time luxury here where we're pretty locked into the #2 spot and not in any danger of being passed. Between the remainder of the regular season and the bye, the Yanks have a couple of weeks to try and get this figured out a bit and get some players healthy.
Sounds like LeMahieu is activated Friday, we'll see what he's got.
1-0 in the Anthony Rizzo era.
I would list him as 3rd or 4th in line. Holmes, Loaisiga, Effross, Trivino....
