LOL! You’re the moron who discounted 2020 playoff experience as somehow not meaningful, because it fucked up your narrative.
And as I said the other day in response to your stupid post, the September offensive numbers for Pete, Escobar, McNeil, Lindor, Nimmo and Nido destroy your argument. Since you seem incapable of doing research to back up your bullshit, here are some numbers for you:

Agree. It was rumored he would return for the Braves series, but that doesn't appear to be the case.
The offensive has held up well, considering his absence...
In ym view, I don't expect hm back until either the NLDS (best case scenario) or the NLCS (realistic scenario). There's also a chance he's not back at all this season if it was more serious than they made it out to be. Hopefully the Mets wn the division and avoid the WC round completely.

Thanks Dan - crossing my fingers that they can play all 3 without resorting to a DH on Sunday. Goes without saying that this is the biggest series of the year - with the top 3 guys going anything less than 2 out of 3 would be a disappointment. Let's hope for a big time rebound from Jake

MeNeil: 330 BA, 411 OBP, 372 SLG (not great), 783 OPS (still very good despite low SLG), 14 runs
Nimmo: 264 BA, 396 OBP, 414 SLG, 810 OPS, 20 runs
Nido: 333 BA, 340 OBP, 563 SLG, 903 OPS, 2 HR (he had ZEO before September), 8 RBI (had had a whopping 19 before September)
Lindor: 308 BA, 342 OBP, 510 SLG, 852 OPS, 4 HR, 18 RBI (the most he's had in any month except for May), 17 runs
For offensive players who are "choking" because they have "no playoff experience", those numbers are pretty good, I'd say.
But we all know you simply ignore any evidence that shows the stupidity of your takes. So you keep doing you, I guess.
2020 doesnt count because it wasnt a real season, there were no fans in the stands, players opted out. It wasnt anything like a real pennant race or playoffs. Sorry if you are too damn stupid to understand that
Total numbers dont take into account situations in a game and who they played against, which were the worst teams in the league. They SHOULD have decent numbers against bad teams. But the facts are they went 11-9 vs bad teams, and poor clutch hitting was a big reason why
Even Gary Cohen brought it up yesterday, how the pressure could be affecting the hitters (note Lindor and Pete and McNeil all had terrible at bats in crucial spots last night)
Note that all teams in every sport look to trade for veteran guys at the deadline because they have been through it
You really seem to have a superficial knowledge of sports. And you still think Alonso is an above average defensive player even though your beloved analytics say otherwise

Of course 2020 doesn't count - because it blows up your narrative. Did they not still play games with intense pressure? Did they not play win or go home games? Did they not crown a champion?
Have players had individual AB's in Sept where they didn't come through, even against bad teams? Well of fucking course! This is a sport where even the best player fail 7 of every 10 times, numbnuts
Darin Ruf has postseason experience - from last year no less, there were fans in the stands, and everything! - how's that worked out for him this year? He was the "veteran" they acquired at the deadline because he's "been through it", and he has failed spectacularly.
You can ignore them all you want, but their September numbers are what they are. The pitching has been the problem in September - especially Carrasco and Walker, go look at their numbers for September (August, too for that matter)
You're such a fucking moron, I almost feel sorry for you. Almost.
Re Alonso - stop putting words in my mouth, asshole. I never said he was an above defensive player. You keep saying he's a "bad" defensive player, which simply isn't true. The metrics say otherwise, but you ignore those and go with your "eye test", like somehow that means anything.
You also wanted Dom to play 1B over Pete, despite the fact that any difference Dom had in defensive ability was SIGNIFICANTLY outweighed by the difference in offensive numbers (I must have told you that at least 100 times).
How'd that work out for you?
Speaking of superficial sports knowledge, I don't even though why I bother with you; you're the asshole who thinks Judge just tied the major league HR mark last night (pssst, it's the AMERICAN LEAGUE title, moron) and that no one outside NYC knows that Judge is also going for the triple crown.
I try to ignore you - like everyone else does - but you say such stupid shit I can't help get sucked in sometimes. Shame on me, I've got to stop doing that.
that when the pitch hits the dirt the official scorer always calls it a wild pitch when it gets past the catcher - whether the catcher should have blocked it or not
And that wasnt the first time you didnt know basic things like that
And we can pull up dozens of posts where you call Pete an above average 1B defensively because thats what the analytics said last year (which was a joke because he couldnt pick a ball to save his life and that clearly didnt go against his metrics). And we can pull up dozens of posts where I say he is below average, because he is
And we can look at how many times Dom came in for Pete defensively in the late innings, which is why Dom stayed on the roster for so long while not hitting. Clearly Buck wanted Dom on the team for that purpose, too
Gary Cohen said last night what was obvious - the hitters have been choking in big spots when they didnt from April-August. And he said it was the pressure of the pennant race
And no, I dont recognize Bonds as the record holder, neither do a lot of people, as Maris Jr said last night. Everyone is entitled to their opinion on Bonds and no one will change it
If you want to ignore me, go ahead, I surely dont care
was viewed a major price to pay even tat the time. He's obviously come a long way but he's always hit (since day 1) (career .927 OPS). He's also considered a potential above average C. What can you do? But the Ruf trade looks... well rough right about now. They need to do a better job of identifying their own. Wasn't meant as a dump on the Mets post etc.
Both Baty and ex-@mets prospect Endy Rodriguez also made @keithlaw’s list of prospects who had standout seasons worth mentioning #Mets

For those that don't know, a BBIer created a mute button for BBI - so certain people won't ruin threads for you.
It's the only thing that makes these threads tolerable this year...
Problem is, it only works on computers, not phone or ipad.

OK, wow - lots of stupid to unpack here.
First - when a ball gets past the catcher, it's not ALWAYS called a wild pitch; there is a little category that official scorers used called PASSED BALL. You should read up on it, you might learn something. But knowing you, probably not.
Second - you have consistently called Pete a bad fielding 1B, don't make up shit now. Yes, Dom is marginally better fielder than Pete - I have said that many times. But - as I've also said many times - any difference in their fielding abilities was more than outweighed by their offensive differences. Think about it - if Dom was THAT much better than Pete in fielding, Buck would have played Dom there ALL THE TIME. The Mets would have solved their DH problems by using Pete there all season. Only problem is, Dom couldn't hit the broad side of the barn; he didn't hit even ONE home run in over 365 days, covering two seasons!
So Buck - like everyone else with a brain - knew that Dom was marginally better enough on D to give Pete a breather a few times in late innings, but not nearly offensively good enough to play every day at 1B. Tell us, genius - why isn't Dom the every day 1B, if he's "so much better" at fielding than Pete?
Third - I can't help but to simply LOL at the fact that you you use Maris's son as an example of someone to support your argument that Bonds shouldn't be the record holder! That's some grade A stupidity right here. PS - Maris's family gave McGwire lots of love when HR broke Maris's record - they even attended the very game he broke it and hugged him after he rounded the bases. How to you explain that? He has the same steroids cloud hanging over him that Bonds does, so their treatment of the HR record should be the same for Bonds and Mac, right?
Just because you and a few others morons don't acknowledge it, doesn't mean it's not official.
Since you lack basic knowledge about baseball, let me clue you in on a little something - Maris's record was also decried/not acknowledged by many, because he hit 61 after game 154. In fact, there was much discussion about the placement of mythical asterisk next to Maris's record because of that. See link below for a little history lesson. The irony of the people denying Bonds's record and falling back to Maris's record is too fucking funny. Well, it's sad more than funny, I suppose, to see so much stupidity out there.
So again - you (and any other moron who tries to pretend Bonds's record doesn't exist) are simply wrong to say Judge has tied the ML mark. Period. Full stop.
But you're wrong a lot, so I'm sure one more time won't phase you much.
I try to ignore you - like everyone else does - but you say such stupid shit I can't help get sucked in sometimes. Shame on me, I've got to stop doing that.

I know there is a mute function and I use it for him, but the problem is it doesn't work on mobile devices, which is how I view BBI most of the time.
It also doesn't work when someone replies to him in a thread, because I can see then see his comments in the reply.
So that's what I meant when I said I need to be better about not getting sucked in.

A little history lesson about Roger Maris, since you don't know your baseball history - ( New Window )
Your reading comprehension is so bad I wonder how you got thru middle school
1. I will cut and paste this from my earlier post, then add capitalization so you can see how dumb you are: "when the pitch HITS THE DIRT the official scorer always calls it a wild pitch when it gets past the catcher - whether the catcher should have blocked it or not
Did you see the HITS THE DIRT part this time?
2. No one, including me, has ever said to play Dom regularly over Pete. The fact that you cannot admit Pete isnt a good fielding 1B is astounding. Dom is miles better defensively, not "marginally" as you keep claiming. If Dom was only marginally better, he would not have lasted on the roster as long as he did. There is nothing else to say because now you are making up crap and trying to change the argument
3. When McGwire broke the record, steriods werent even talked about, no one was saying cheater, so your point, as usual, is useless. What does wanting an asterisk in 1961 have to do with now? Maris didnt cheat, the asterisk was about playing more games than Ruth to hit 61. Seriously, you have no idea how to even argue, you bring in stuff that has nothing to do with anything because you have no argument to make
PED's but yes, it's been alleged the Yankees had a whistling system for stealing signs in 1961 created by Bob Turley. 100% not interested in a cheating/Maris debate, just pointing out that this has been alleged.
"Nonetheless, statistical projections can be revealing. Mine are based on a combination of my SCHOENE player projections for box score stats as well as three-year, luck-adjusted Regularized Adjusted Four Factors (RAPM) from NBAshotcharts.com. I estimate games played based on those missed over the past three years then make subjective predictions for playing time.
The result is an expected wins total based on average health luck. Because some teams will have better or worse fortune, but we don't know which ones, the average totals will inevitably be closer to .500 than the actual final standings.
Helps tho that some of you are arguing like Desperate Housewives lol
But now we have the Braves right? If we do this right we have it! Go Mets! I’m wearing my hat all the time!

Turley was doing it from the field, in the dugout or as the first base coach. Stealing signs while on the field without any Electronics or binoculars was legal then and legal now. It's the same as a runner doing it from second base

Yeah but still don't know with 100% certainty he didn't try PEDs...
The latest known beginning of steroid and PED use in professional sports was in the early 1950s.
I do not think Maris did it, but I can't say with 100% certainty he didn't. I can't say for sure that any player since then didn't use.
You decided to start posting on the Mets threads? We finally have new owners and the traditional argument of wilpons isnt necessary and it’s replaced by whatever antagonistic points you feel like bringing up. I think we all get your stances, and plenty disagree, so why keep posting on these threads if it just causes fights and ruins it for the rest of us. There isn’t a poster more adored than Shecky and you are managing to chase him off. Heck I have even see Z in weeks either. Why come on to argue? Just go on the baseball thread on Reddit or something.

I didnt bring up any antagonistic points. I started out thanking god the Mets got rid of their analytics offense crap from last year - a point verified by GKR over and over - and analytics fans Eric and Shecky proceeded to call me names over it
Then Shecky would take passive aggresive potshots at me on various threads, and that would be the only post he makes on the thread
Sorry, but Ive always laughed at Shecky and his useless riddles he posts here. But I never addressed him this year until he started attacking me. Then it became apparent this year that he is a relative or very close friend of the Alderson family
I never start any attacks, but answer back when attacked

Both Baty and ex-@mets prospect Endy Rodriguez also made @keithlaw’s list of prospects who had standout seasons worth mentioning #Mets
I try to ignore you - like everyone else does - but you say such stupid shit I can't help get sucked in sometimes. Shame on me, I've got to stop doing that.
If you honestly can't get past this, there is something for it.

Hey, its Alderson's relative
And that wasnt the first time you didnt know basic things like that

Seriously, you have no idea how to even argue, you bring in stuff that has nothing to do with anything because you have no argument to make
I asked how can you prove it didn't.
Which is my point.
The only players villified are those who have been caught, not all who did it.
We can never know who did and didn't, which is why I choose not to villify anyone.
Let's take a look."

I actually miss those off seasons now
Quote:
PED's but yes, it's been alleged the Yankees had a whistling system for stealing signs in 1961 created by Bob Turley. 100% not interested in a cheating/Maris debate, just pointing out that this has been alleged.

We don't know, we'll never know.
I actually miss those off seasons now
This isn’t even remotely accurate.

Also, others start calling me names and saying derogatory things, then I answer back. So any contentious discussions didnt start with me
Now the only question is which dupe is he…
Wow..ok..let's go
Vientos and Ruf have had their shot.
Maybe 3rd times the charm here!
Now the only question is which dupe is he…
Wrong again, but what else is new

Others started calling you names because you started posting stupid shit so people called you out on it.
Pretty simple, really.
🤷🏻♂️
That is fantastic! Better late than never.
He can’t be worse than Ruf
The bonds HR mark is official. No matter what you and your fellow morons think.

You decided to start posting on the Mets threads? We finally have new owners and the traditional argument of wilpons isnt necessary and it’s replaced by whatever antagonistic points you feel like bringing up. I think we all get your stances, and plenty disagree, so why keep posting on these threads if it just causes fights and ruins it for the rest of us. There isn’t a poster more adored than Shecky and you are managing to chase him off. Heck I have even see Z in weeks either. Why come on to argue? Just go on the baseball thread on Reddit or something.

Wow. That you believe any of the bullshit you posted is quite sad.
But you are you, so the rest of us have to suffer.
Hated in Rangers threads
Even hated in weather threads
But plays the victim
And oh, is ALWAYS right…
Please do everyone a favor, just take your ball and go home already.
