NFT: Why the Giants wreck my FF team every year

JerseyCityJoe : 9/29/2022 2:01 pm
As a BlueBlood Giant fan here are some of the limitations my FF team faces every year.

No players from Dallas on roster

Ditto for players from Philly

No picking DEF teams when they play the Giants

No starting my players from opposing teams when they face Giants (One exception I allow is for FG kickers and I don't exactly know why)

Who else have these handicaps?
When it comes to offensive players

I'll usually only take a player from a divisional rival when he's the clear-cut best player on the board or the last from a positional tier that I feel I need to address.

But when it comes to team defense, I tend to stream defenses, and honestly, picking up whoever is playing the Giants has been a strong strategy for a few years now.

Why do you play fantasy football? Ball don't lie.

I agree that's the problem. But when I win one year its going to be sweet.
It really is a ridiculous take.

If you draft a Cowboy, does that decrease the odds that the Giants will lose?
I don't draft Giants players

whenever I do they have a bad year, or get injured.

I couldn't help myself, I kept drafting Evan Engram every year. I take full responsibility for his Giants career.

This year I couldn't help but take Toney, it was like the 11th or 12th round, I couldn't just let him go to another team and have a monster year. I'm sorry, again my fault.

I'm also responsible for both of Barkley's previous injuries, Odell Beckham, Victor Cruz, Nicks, I forget which back-up it was that I picked up after Barkley got hurt, and then they immediately got hurt themselves after I picked him up.

And no I didn't have Shep on my team...I can't take the blame for that one.

Its not about odds. Its about not having a damm Cowboy on my team. Yes I know its juvenile but they are not going to be on my squad.
you are decreasing your already low odds of winning
UConn4523 : 9/29/2022 2:29 pm : link
by removing several top tier players at their positions from your draft board. You seem to be at peace with that, but I can't relate at all since I play to win money.

Haha, I do the same thing. However Barkley is tearing it up for me.
Don’t play FF
djm : 9/29/2022 2:32 pm : link
..I’ve won titles thx to eagles, wash and Dallas players. Who cares. Just win baby.
I've never had a Cowboy or Eagle on my team
Mayhap : 9/29/2022 2:32 pm : link
and I never will. I root for the players on my fantasy team to do well, and I could never root for a Cowboy or Eagle. People will tell you that it's ridiculous, but if the point is to have fun, do whatever makes it the most fun for you. Now if the point is to win money, or if you're so competitive that winning is the only thing that makes it fun, it's probably not the best strategy. However, it is definitely possible to win your league with no Cowboys or Eagles on your team.
I don't ever draft eagles, skins or cowboys
Heisenberg : 9/29/2022 2:37 pm : link
And I've done just fine. There's tons of players in the league worth having.
I definitely have these handicaps.
Mike in Long Beach : 9/29/2022 2:37 pm : link
I'll make exceptions, but they're rare. And never an exception for an Eagles or Cowboys quarterback or star running back. Even their kickers give me the willies.

And as much as I like to pretend I'm impartial, I definitely see the football world in blue color glasses. I had Golladay last year and was sitting at 5-7. I finally gave the fuck up on him and kicked him to the curb. Closed out the year 2-0 to nab the final playoff spot at 7-7, and went on to win the championship, ha.

I will say though.. so far so good for me and Saquon teaming up this year.
Players
thevett : 9/29/2022 2:40 pm : link
I play to win so I have players from the Commanders aka The Condoms, the Filthy Eaglets and the Cowploops
FF is a lot of luck
JB_in_DC : 9/29/2022 2:41 pm : link
I doubt its cost you much.
Everyone is in play on any given week.........
GiantBlue : 9/29/2022 3:04 pm : link
But while for instance...I play against Tua Tonight (I have Josh Allen), it is easy for me to watch and root for the Bengals D to shut him down.

If Josh Allen played against the Giants, I root like hell for the Giants to suffocate him and their offense....and see what I got at the end of the night.

There is rooting for your fantasy team and then just seeing what your player got if he played the Giants. Easy!
