KT89...I am shocked...
Setting aside Toney, who is sort of the shiny object on this list,
81_Great_Dane : 9/30/2022 2:38 pm : link
Robinson's knee injury just be more serious than we were originally led to believe. Not bad enough for surgery, though. A sprained ligament?
Toney is out?
Silver Spoon : 9/30/2022 2:39 pm : link
Just shocking news. At what point can they put this loser on IR, ending another Gettleman blunder?
The Toney jokes are getting old
Tuckrule : 9/30/2022 2:41 pm : link
The dude had a hammy issue prior to week 1. He played on a bad wheel. He aggravated his injury. It’s not such a complicated situation. You guys remember Odell and his hamstring injury his rookie year and preseason. It lingered all the way to week 3 or 4 I believe. Let’s give the kid a chance before we all write him off.
to be fair

one of those guys doesn't really technically qualify as a player.

I assume Robinson sprained his MCL and we just don't know the severity, but given that he really isnt working or have been seen it is probably a severe sprain (which is essentially a tear). But, again, this is all conjecture because the only information we get is actions by the team (practice/no practice--active/inactive).
I wonder what Silver Spoon thinks

Getting old? You know what’s getting old? Hearing this schlub is missing another practice or game. This guy is the complete opposite of what the new regime is looking for in a player. The sooner he’s gone, the better.
Leonard Williams will be the guy we miss the most.

In Toney, Robinson (no pun intended) and Sheppards absence, I'm actually hoping Slayton and Galloday can do something this week. Prove their worth though DS is league min and KG is league MAX;)

I was afraid Robinson and Toney wouldn't fit in when they were drafted, but they look every bit the part of a giants wr
Toney
NJBlueTuna : 9/30/2022 2:49 pm : link
It’s comical that people here seem to think the availability of a MRI doesn’t exist and the coach is aware of the proof of the injury.

Also, a few of us in this board are old enough to remember Issac Bruce who came out of his breaks like an arc of electricity. I am NOT comparing Toney to a HOF WR but Toney’s joystick style moves are very similar to Bruce although Bruce was a way more polished route runner. Anyway…Bruce played even less than Toney his first few years in the league bc he was always plagued by hamstring issues. Always. I wonder if their similar insane fast twitch muscles are prone to hamstring issues and what Bruce did to overcome it in his career.

You act like you’re under the impression that just this one injury is why he’s become a running joke. He’s a running joke based on the 10 or so different injuries he’s had in little over 1 year. Not just this one.

Also, we’ve all been trying to give him “a chance”. Every single week we hope is his chance. Every. Single. Week.
Either one of two things are true
Essex : 9/30/2022 2:52 pm : link
he is injury prone (not good) or he is injury prone and does not gut it out (worse but not provable at this point). Nothing else can be said at this point about KT that does not include one or the other.
I am sure Toney will be fine by next week.....
GiantBlue : 9/30/2022 2:58 pm : link
so he can get that trip to England and garner more international....ahem....exposure.....music exposure.
KT89 baby!

Bruce comps
jmalls23 : 9/30/2022 3:32 pm : link
Toney does not ever practice or play. Isaac Bruce 1024/15208 and 91 tds

...
Mdgiantsfan : 9/30/2022 3:36 pm : link
The bigger disappointment is not KT, for me it's Wandale. Hopefully once he does get healthy and sees the field, he's brings some level of productivity.

IB played 56/64 his first four years. 12/16 his first year.
Well, we got a game out of Flott
VinegarPeppers : 9/30/2022 5:13 pm : link
So I guess we should be grateful for that. Getting really sick of this shit.
It's such a weird coincidence...
sb from NYT Forum : 9/30/2022 5:30 pm : link
...that the undersized guys that Schoen drafted in the 2nd and 3rd round almost instantly got injured once they played in real games.
In my life watching football, I would never have imagined
chick310 : 9/30/2022 5:58 pm : link
the joke that is the NY Giant WR & TE Units in 2022.

Kadarius Toney, if you are reading this..you should be ashamed of yourself.
Hmm W. Robinson
Dave on the UWS : 9/30/2022 6:24 pm : link
got hit on the side of the knee. How does his size factor into that. Flott strained a calf muscle. How does size factor into that? Reaching a bit

The only thing that's getting old are people still making excuses for him. He doesn't play. He's a total waste of a roster spot.
arc.
SFGFNCGiantsFan : 9/30/2022 7:08 pm : link
It is a joke @ this point. I wouldn't be shocked if he's an ex Giant six months from now. I can't imagine this new regime is enamored with him.
Adding context and cleats
Blu4ever : 9/30/2022 7:08 pm : link
He .issed a complete pra tice because his clears weren't right
That set the stage and makes everything else suspect - even if it's legitimate.
I believe he thumbed his nose and basically said "I'm not gonna play, I ll invent excuses if I have to ".
Bad cleats, I dont even know how that's possible. Helluva imagination.

Bruce played in 12 games his rookie year and 16 games in each of the next two years. By the end of his second season he had 140 receptions for over 2000 yards and 16 tds.

After this week Toney will have missed 8 games out of 21 which is double the amount Bruce missed in his first 48 games.
Reports are saying Toney
Giant John : 10/1/2022 9:30 pm : link
Has a torn hamstring. Anyone hear reports confirming?
