Judge looking for #62
No real need to win, but this is when you want to see the bats start to cook a bit.
Article mentions that Stanton is batting .146 (14 for 96) with 40 strikeouts since returning from the IL on 8/25.
He gets a huge benefit of the doubt but may be stretching even that if he doesn't pick it up.
This lineup leaves another $25M man (JD) on the bench.

Thank God for MLB.TV and my VPN.
If it bounces it is on the player throwing the ball. Piss poor throw. Easy catch and throw. If the ball was on the bag Mullins was out.
Arraez is sitting today. Afraid to lose ground.
Looks done.
Only thing that matters #62 for #99

Peter Angelos is a fucking douche.
Feels good. Damn good.
:)
Given cortisone shot and shut down entirely for one week. Hope he will be back for ALDS, but that will be cutting it close.

ooof...looked like he was getting his control back.
The combo of Rizzo, Torres, Stanton, and DJM were horrid last night.
If Carp shows he can hit, Stanton is the most logical guy for his lineup spot to be taken. Stanton hasn’t shown anything that remotely resembles turning into something offensively.

The Yanks have time to experiment with lineups etc. Here’s one I would try- sit Stanton for the remainder of the season- no BP, no games- just sit and clear the head watching everything else. Start up BP during the Wild Card round and let him face live pitching again on the 11th.
Sometimes when you are in a rut this deep, you have to stop and breathe before trying again.
I would also DH Donaldson for the remainder of the season. It should get him prepared for what SHOULD be his playoff role- bat off the bench and late inning defensive replacement.
