I've lived and worked in the UAE for many years. I know the country intimately well. You're fine in hotels, particularly in Dubai. What's not cool is if she feels he offended her.
It's from over seven years ago, so things have eased up, but dummies like AB are not immune to getting locked up abroad. In Dubai it's about discretion. The hotel is a playground, but if someone--particularly the right person--complains about you, then you're in for it. They tend to let things go, but there are limits, something of which AB knows very little.

We (my friends there) talked about that there when it happened. That was just a case of stupidity. All kinds of debauchery goes on down there. Orgies at hotels done by locals on the DL, offshore gambling boat casinos, brothels run unofficially by higher ups, etc. Crazy stuff. Those peeps who got caught were begging to get caught.
