Yeah, he only played about 20-25 snaps, but you can see the significant size and athleticism he has relative to our other ILBs. It's hard to believe that not one team would give him a practice squad spot until week 3. The guy is clearly a starting caliber NFL linebacker, even with warts in terms of following assignments.
He has much better instincts and brings about 15 more pounds to the tackle.

I was surprised that Smith was cut but very happy he was still available.
The fact that he playes so many snaps for us is not a sign of how good he is, but rather a sign of how bereft of talent our roster is thanks to awful decisions by Gettleman
