Question on how this would be accounted for statistically

M.S. : 10/2/2022 8:10 pm

A QB throws a 15-yard pass to his WR, who immediately stops and laterals to another wide receiver 5 yards behind him. The other wide receiver then runs for 20 more yards. Net/net the play goes for 30 yards from the LOS.

How does that net 30 yards get divvied up, and is it all consider passing yardage, running yardage or a combination of the two.

Thanks in advance!

The scoring is 15 yards passing/receiving, 15 yards rushing in given example. Not 100%.

“Laterals get scored based on the play. Passing play - Players involved in the laterals get receiving yards. The quarterback gets passing yards for all the yards gained on the play. Only the original receiver gets credit for a catch, though.“

I was thinking how it worked in college when teams ran the Wishbone or Veer…then found that…

Wait -- so the second receiver gets positive receiving yards but zero catches?

I bet that leads to some head scratching over the box scores the next day.
