Funny, just 2 nights ago I was talking with a friend of mine about how rough he had looked and how we desperately needed to bolster the middle of the LB group and then today he pops off with this career day and is all over the place.
But generally speaking, he’s done some nice things in his first 2 years if people get beyond the constant bitching.
I have felt since he started to get playing time in 2020 that he’s a useful player. Does a really good team upgrade over him as a starter? Sure, but for Mr. Irrelevant, the guy definitely belongs.

Where he was out of position and turned his back on the ball carrier. He adjusted and turned in a good game. A big difference between this year and last year is fixing the little things during the game.

Uh, no. Generally speaking he has been terrible for two years. Today was his career day, and it was against a really bad offense with a bad QB. Maybe he can learn from it and start producing on a regular basis
He’d be completely invisible for a month at a time, have an impressive game or two, which led to people thinking he had turned a corner, and then he’d disappear again.
The offense we were playing here. The Bears will make a lot of these thumper type linebackers look good, because all they do is run. As soon as teams start passing, that is when Crowder will look bad again.

Agree-not a dangerous passing offense. You can’t control who you play but this is a prime team for someone like Crowder to look good going against. Hopefully he keeps it up when he faces better QB play.
He could keep his eyes and his shoulders facing the line of scrimmage. That's his strength
This is true. I do think the lack of a competent Bears passing game allowed Crowder to play downhill.
BTW, if you listen to Daboll, he praises those that should be praised and doesn't say much about others.
He kept on praising Jones, saying he gets better each game. He praises Barkley to the point I think the keep him. He also has had VG things to say about Crowder.
One of the things that Daboll and staff does is identify where players are able to improve and get them to do so. Daboll is a motivator he gets players to buy in and excel.
Crowder and Smith could solidify the inside linebacker position

Not seeing enough Tae Crowder appreciation Tweets this morning. Y’all bash him when he doesn’t perform to your standards and he was all over the place last night. Give the man his flowers as well.
11 tackles 1 Sack 1 FF
Maybe signing Smith lit a fire
I certainly did, I'll fess up to that.
Well done, Tae.
I’m thinking the same thing. Beats having Calitro.

Have to run and hit to play for this coach.

Totally agree.
Because he was dreadful against Dallas. I was very critical and stand by it but he had a career day today.
was more solid.
Did you watch the Cowboys game? He was utterly awful and one of the major reasons they lost.
Glad he played much better today but he’s going to have to start doing that regularly for me to think he doesn’t need to be replaced.

No. Smith was OK but Crowder was in on 11 tackles, 1 sack, 1 tackle for loss, 2 quarterback hits, and one forced fumble.
He was forceful at the point-of-attack all day.
There’s room on a defense for a guy like that. But the Giants definitely need a coverage linebacker.
