London games

Breeze_94 : 10/2/2022 10:53 pm
I am not too happy about the London game.

First off, London games always seem lackluster- less intense, very sterile.

Not only that, but as a fan located on the west coast, this game is a 6:30am start time for me.

I've never been less excited for a Giants regular season game.

I'm sure the NFL could care less though.
Im looking forward to it

Would I rather it be in the states. Yeah, I guess so. But I dont think its worth getting upset about. Its not like they are playing on a different sized field with different rules. I was pleasantly surprised by the way the game went this morning. Crowd seemed really in to it. And ill also admit that I kind of enjoyed waking up on a Sunday morning and watching football in bed (started at 730 here).
Why can’t people get that

Phrase correct? Never mind. It is a mute point.

Well played
This will be the 35th NFL game played in London

and the first in which both teams have a winning record.

suggest the people buying tickets are just as apt to be supporters of teams not even playing in the game. You might see Chiefs and Rams jerseys in the crowd when the Giants and Packers play. If the stadium feels like it lacks the intensity of a stateside NFL game, that might be the reason why.

Getting up pre-dawn to watch this game doesn't do much for me either, especially given the prospect that we'll be starting Davis Webb.

The saving grace for me is that we don't lose a home game for this stuff. In fact, I think we've been the away team in each of our previous London games.
Among other things I don't like them because...

... every sports reporter in our area thinks it's cute to repeat the cliché "across the pond" over and over again and /or play The Clash's London Calling during the pre and post game shows 🙄
NFL games being played in Europe is such a stupid fucking money grab.

There will NEVER be an NFL team based there. Tired of this garbage.
Aside from the early start time

It doesn’t really bother me. In fact I’d rather they play the Pack in London than at Lambeau.

Don't be such a pre-Madonna
Agreed on the lackluster comment, before the game Sunday

But, that was a very exciting finish and the players and Fans were all into it.

But yeah, London/German/Mexico games all suck. NFL doing it to get money for owners and players.

I'd rather have Four 4pm games than a 9:30am game and three 4pm games. I'm watching on Direct TV.
That crowd was great yesterday and so was the game...

Anybody that watched that game yesterday could not possibly complain about the fans or the contest. It was great from beginning to end. What a finish.

Yes this is true. There will be a large portion of Giants and Packers fans, but there will also be Euopeans who are just NFL fans and are taking this chance to go see a game. You will see jersey's of all the teams in the stands. Its more like a carnival atmosphere than a home game (if that makes sense)
I'd agree, except that we are going to this one. Things just worked

out. We can't wait, never been to London.

I have heard that there are just a bunch of "NFL" fans there, with jerseys from teams not even playing. There also seems to be a large contingent of Packers fans, and to a lesser extent, Giants fans.

We're going to have a ton of fun regardless. Can't wait to buy Tottenham merch.

I was with you until that final sentence... then you lost all credibility 🙂

I couldn’t care less because this isn't an English 101 Course….we are on a message board talking about football

I think you'll be surprised. For whatever reason the Giants have a big fan base in Europe. In fact I think I read somewhere that the Giants and Packers were two of the biggest
To be fair to the NFL

They aren’t the only ones that couldn’t care less about your lack of excitement
