Andrew Thomas continues to be the highest rated LT

Sean : 10/3/2022 12:30 pm
There were a lot of panic threads on Thomas. People pounding the table for Wirfs. Letting things play out and him getting healthy has proven Thomas was a very solid pick.

Remember all the outrage when the Giants beat WFT in December of 2019?

Andrew Thomas is the highest graded OT in the NFL according to
@PFF

And he's still younger than Seahawks rookie RT Abe Lucas

a fucking stud. he doesn't make all pro this year I'm pissed
Thomas is burying people

So many times he just completely takes them down with good technique and they’re done.

So much fun to watch

He's been elite. The switch flipped on this year. We have our LT.
He is playing very well..no doubt
MartyNJ1969 : 10/3/2022 12:39 pm : link
He needs to keep it up.

Dude deserves All Pro buzz.
Dare I say it...
Optimus-NY : 10/3/2022 12:45 pm : link
He's become a great player. The only potential issue are his wheels. So far so good though on that front.
He’s surpassed Wirfs, imo.
RAIN : 10/3/2022 12:51 pm : link
His sets and post foot issues have been cleaned up, and he’s able to use his super long arms more. Some added strength and balance are noticeable as well. Neal’s arc, I hope, will be quickened by AT’s adjustments.
Wirfs was the only other guy I liked
widmerseyebrow : 10/3/2022 12:53 pm : link
Becton just had too much bust potential and Willis seemed to have a low ceiling.

I can honestly say I wasn't too worried about AT other than his wheels. Most tackles take a year or two to develop and just listening to him you can tell he's much more coachable than Flowers ever was.
He's going to be a huge piece for our future QB's development

Total dominance.

Bobby Skinner's breakdowns of his play are glorious.
AT is such a mature and likeable young man.
Optimus-NY : 10/3/2022 1:07 pm : link
He meshed well with Solder, who was a very good role model for him when he started.
liked seeing him block 2 players
UConn4523 : 10/3/2022 1:10 pm : link
in Baldy's breakdown, looked hilarious, like he was just moving a couple kids out of the way.
Wills was the tackle I liked. Gettleman got this one right

I don't think there's much question AT has surpassed Wirfs, considering Wirfs is still playing RT. LT is a much more valuable position
And he still has more receiving touchdowns as a Giant

than Golladay and Toney combined :)
He is my favorite Giant

Why? We have a ton of cap room starting next year. He isn't going anywhere.
I believe Thomas...
bw in dc : 10/3/2022 2:46 pm : link
is the best player on the offense because he plays a premium position.

He keeps playing like this and they will do whatever it takes to afford him, no worries!
He was playing

On this level last year and people didn’t realize it, because PFF was grading him in the 70s. He’s far and away the best player on the team, and deserves all the merit that comes his way.
Lots of justified concern
Jimmycal : 10/3/2022 3:29 pm : link
with overall talent level on offense, but that said we have 2 of the 5 best offensive players in football so far this year
Not only the highest-graded OT
jhibb : 10/5/2022 8:02 pm : link
but highest-graded OL so far, with Chris Lindstrom close behind.

Is JS allowed to sing him early or does the rookie deal have to end or at least be part of the contract if they extend?

I would think they would want to take full advantage of the 5th year option, but I can't see why after the exercise it they couldn't come to an agreement on an extension
We should remember this, as Neal goes through his growing

he's going to be great as well.

The fans and media don’t know when a player is playing poorly because he’s injured, if the team doesn’t disclose the extent of the injury.

The results from Thomas simply were not good his rookie year. With the benefit of more information, turns out he’d been injured early on, played through it, and needed surgery.

On just the results, he looked downright bad. I’m not going to knock anyone who was concerned with his play. Something was big time wrong. Turns out it was his wheel, not his talent.
Thomas was lamented as the 4th pick in a draft with only
Jimmy Googs : 10/5/2022 10:31 pm : link
3 Blue Chip players.

And then he took shots because he struggled out of the box with a dysfunctional Offense and Coaching staff while he was still developing his pass pro technique.

And then he had some lower body injuries and surgeries to deal with resulting in angst and question marks from fans, including me.

And now in Year 3, he looks to be probably one of the best young Tackles in the entire league and the single best core player on the Giants for this rebuild.
