He and Archie Manning invented the run for your life offense
I think the OP was blasting the return the Giants got for trading Tarkenton back to Minnesota.
I think the point of this thread is "Kenny Golladay is the worst player acquisition in Giants history." That may be true.
The thing is, every team has draft busts and mistakes (Derek Brown, Rocky Thompson, DeAndre Baker, yup) bad trades and free agent disasters. Also calamitous injuries (Jason Sehorn). I try to avoid dwelling on them but a lot of fans have PTSD about these things.
I figure, sometimes you win, sometimes you lose, sometimes it rains. Everybody gets lucky now and then (Ahmad Bradshaw) and everybody screws up now and then. Getting lucky doesn't make the GM a genius, screwing up doesn't make the GM an idiot. The good ones make more good decisions and screw up less. If we get that with Schoen, I'll be happy.

I believe he said trading Tarkenton back to Minnesota, but the Giants got Norm Snead in the trade and went 8-6 before the bottom fell out the next year.
4th round pick, not the worst waste of a pick by a stretch, but he got cut during his first training camp. Think he played in 2 NFL games the following season with the Lions, that was his career

They also got a first round pick which they drafted Brad Van Pelt with.
The team got old and had little talent, especially on offense. It was going to be bad, and Tarkenton wasn’t going to save it.

I'd put Tom Maddox or Mike Glennon on that list instead of Brown. I know he wasn't a great quarterback but I don't think he was quite as bad as some here made him out to be and he played his ass off for us on some pretty bad teams so I'm always willing to give Dave B a break
I don't understand how it took even 14 minutes for his name to come up. That 09 season is an all time worst by any Giant regardless of position, at least in my life time.
I mean, he made most of us forget about Will Demps. You have any goddamn idea how hard that is? It's like forgetting about a famine because it's now raining sulphur.
Most of you are probably to young to remember Craig Morton
Jury is still out as he can turn it around, but... just sayin
Brian Mitchell
Junior Ioane
Good call. He derailed the 2009 season by himself.
Eldridge Small
Kanavis Mc Ghee
Derek Brown
William Joseph
If we signed Herman today, he'd be starting next week.

Solder's 2021 performance was the most embarrassing I've seen. Golladay looks like All-Pro talent in comparison.

Tyrone Wheatley
picking guys like Rocky Thompson, Eldridge Small, Derek Brown, Cedrick Jones are low hanging fruit
2. Ereck Flowers
3. William Joseph
4. Sinorice Moss
5. Clint Sintin
You beat me to it!
At the very least an honorable mention.
My head went here too.. if only he could've pulled down that Hail Mary against the Texans :)

He belongs on this list b/c of where he was picked, in front of Terry Glenn, Marvin Harrison, Ray Lewis, and Will Anderson, among others.

Jesus what a brutal time. Didn’t they bring him back a second time or am I thinking of someone else?
Arrington was at least playing well before the injury if I recall correctly

No he didn't. You're thinking of Jay Alford.
Amazing reference. Forgot this guy. Awful.

Jay Alford had the sack late in 4th Quarter versus Tom Brady. I would also consider Tim Carter or Thomas Lewis at WR.

Far worse than Dave Brown just because the trade helped the Cowboys so much!
And don't forget Aaron Ross's evil twin Aaron Rouse, the only player on the field worse than CC Brown.

Neither of them played in the Super Bowl. Jay Alford had a Super Bowl sack
Just awful. Fuck you, Dave Gettleman.
You're basically saying who are the worst giants of all time.
